Guess who's the next "Zague" in Mexico... Zinha, O BRASILEIRO (stupid traitor) scores for Mexico, and it was good shot, and Mexico won against Japan, 2 goals for Mexico, 1 goal for Japan. Too bad for Zico and Alex...

Interesting fact ... there are many Brazilian born players playing for other teams on this Confederation Cup. Check this out.

    Japan - Alex
    Tunisia - Santos
    Mexico - Zinha
    Germany - Kuranyi

Then you have Deco for Protugal and I remember Oliveira playing for Belgium and Zague for Mexico. Ailton wanted to play for Kwait.

    That's pretty crazy !

I wonder if one day we will have one playing for Argentina :)

When something like that happens it'll be the end of the world as we know it. :D

Leandro and Ailton tried to play for Germany first, and Edu (Arsenal) tried to play for England. But none of them could play for those countries - and I believe all three of them then tried to play for middle-Eastern teams which was of course absurd. Edu whined his way onto the Selecao and Leandro then made an appearance or two in the past 2-3 years, but Ailton never got called up because he was too old, not good enough, and more **portly** than Ronaldo was when he was a bit overweight. IMO, Deco is the only one that could have seen time on the Selecao but even then it would have been tough.

As for a Brazilian playing for Argentina... the only way that would ever happen is if Argentina was ranked 210th in the FIFA rankings with 10 people in the country. And even then, it would be begrudgingly... if it would even happen at all! ;)

I am obviously joking about a Brazilian in the Argentinian team. That would be absurd :)

I know it's probably a little early to make any conclusions and judgements about Adriano. But I am disappointed with his play so far. He seems limited and predictable in his moves. I miss Ronaldo's touch, finesse around the box, his higher quality passes, and his finishing. Today I got tired of Adriano being offside and fouling defenders.

Sure we played like crap but i also dont blame em too much, Mexico put up a defence that was too tight and gave our players no room to move

As a Brasileiro and a huge fan of the sport I don't remember being angry at the Seleção like today in years, an increasing sentiment right from the start of the game. Well, anger comes from frustration. From the moment the game began I was frustrated with the lack of seriousness with which our players were looking at the task in front of them. It was obvious that the men in yellow were not hungry enough, the kind of attitude Brazilians have from time to time, especially when they are spoiled with compliments.

It reminds me of a story published years ago in a Placar magazine's special issue celebrating Pelé's 50th anniversary. If my memory does not fail me, it was about Venezuela x Brazil in Caracas. Pelé tells the story. Rainy day, poor display and when the first half ends João Saldanha doesn't allow them to enter the locker room. By “them” we’re talking about Pelé, Tostão and the others. “You stay outside and think about what you’re doing. You’re wearing the national team’s shirt! Shame on you, f****** bast***s!” In the second half they played like Brazil and won by a wide margin, 5 nil if I'm correct.

Parreira is a polite man. Is he too soft? Yes, he is. That’s why Zagallo is so important and we are sensing his absence. That’s why Dunga was the Captain in 1994. That’s why today, when Parreira yelled several times at them “PLAY WIDE”, they didn’t listen to him, insisting in fancy and useless moves through two lines of four men. They know that nothing will happen and Parreira will save their a**es.

Parreira never played football. He does not really know what goes on inside a player’s head and how it works. He never had been there to know it as a first hand experience. Obviously it does not diminish his accomplishments in terms of what he did for the Seleção. He’s a fine coach, one of the best we have. But I think he doesn't know how to suffocate the ego's hypnotic power of a football star.

Adriano misses a shot and… smiles. Robinho has better options than a shot but wants to shine alone, makes mistakes and... smiles. Ronaldinho - who apparently loves to provide his detractors with more ammunition about being an underachiever with the Seleção- commits mistakes and smiles. Silly smiles, a comedy of mistakes, as MIGKiller correctly pointed out in another thread.

Football is not only about talent, tactics and strategy. The pre game talk exists for a reason. Football players are, for the most part, emotional. They have to feel that to win a game they must play like a team, with the survival imperative, work ethic and one single heart. Today’s Brazil had neither heart nor soul. Our opponents, it does not matter from where they come from, had both.

Neovox ... you need to talk to the players instead of Parreira :)

That's what happens when Parreira comes out and says we are favorites to win the World Cup more than ever...salto alto.

Wow, Neovox, you should become the national coach, I would definitely support you. The things you said on that post is so damm true. I thought Parreira was a bit of a tougher coach.
I am really dissapointed in this fool Roque Junior, why the hell is he on the team.
Did anybody else realize that whenever Roque Junior had the ball, he only did 2 things with it. 1) Passed it back to Dida 2) Kicked the ball up field.
Rarely did this man made a pass forward, unless Emerson or someone else was wide open.
