    June 18-29. That's 11 days, a possible total of 5 matches.

Who is going? I imagine some of the other YA's like myself will be going, and others from the homeland...

My sister in law works for a travel agent, and she can get great group rates on hotels and train travel...

    Who is definately going.

Who is seriously thinking about going...

    Who needs more info?

The draw comes out Feb 12th, so we'll know the exact dates and venues for the Nats...

It would be great to get a bunch of us together for this tournament, which should be a lot of fun (even in it IS in France)

Let's brainstorm and figure out something

There is a good possibility I'll be going... well, a better possibility than last week. As it is, who really knows... but I'll check in here... of course I'd be following Brazil, but interestd in a US game too.

Myself and at least two others from Boston are definately going. Just waiting to see what the draw looks like before we commit to an itinerary, but we plan to stay for the duration of the tournament. We have a fourth also having indicated she'll go but that's somewhat up in the air at the moment.

exactly...When the draw comes out for sure, then I'll be able to get more definate info on hotels/travel/tickets...so if ppl are interested in that side of the trip I can help, and hopefully we'll have some good efforts from the Nats to cheer for :)

I am planning on, um, staying and getting to some matches. Given that I will probably just fit them in around work, I probably will plan on going to see whoever is at the Stade de France, rather than going whereever the US is.

No doubt Flan will plan on attending some matches as well (assuming that he is still in France then).

I'd like to, but I'll have to see what it's going to run me.

Sounds good. Might be eurostarring over. Paris/ St.-Denis will likely be more do-able.

Is the schedule out (ie, do we know where/ when the US is playing)?

My wife and I were planning on going to at least one match depending on work and when the games fall, so we are definately interested. I'll keep checking back for updates, can't wait!

I WAS going. That was until my parents chopped in with.......why don't we go on a family vacation. Coming from a large Italian family, there really wasn't much of a possiblity to say no. I hope everyone enjoys the trip.

Going back (to France) tonight as a matter of fact (NoVA product-DCUnited Fan).

Tree, I have 3 or 4 guys who I've been trying to get over for a couple of years, so I'll be interested in what you might have.

I can probably do some work in terms of reserving hotels, though in France (at least at ski resorts) you can't just throw down a credit card and cancel 24hrs in advance with no penalty. You lose your deposit...this is all talk after the draw, but I and one or two friends are definitely going to all three first round games.

I am seriously considering so any info you gather will be greatly appreciated by me.

I would probably be a little iffy as far as hotel reservations for the entire 11 days as I would like to do some travelling around and such.

However, just the same, let me know what is developing as far as the BigSoccer community is going.

I'm sitting here in Frankfurt, so it'd be a crying shame if I didn't get off my tuckus and attend matches that were taking place veritably next door, wouldn't it? YAHOO ! :D

Any other Yank Fans Abroad who would be up for travel from Frankfurt or thereabouts (Courtney and the ilk)? Also, what is the deal on procuring tickets in a U.S. supporters section? Will U.S. Soccer have a better deal than if I try and get tickets through some European/French equivalent of ticketmaster?

Now that tickets are available, anyone interested in getting a group together departing from somewhere in Germany (preferably Frankfurt)?

    Go Nats!

I've been told that individual tickets will be available in April.

Also told the following website will be translated into English and on-line immediately after the draw in a little over a week:

I am pressed for time and don't have a dictionary, but I took a stab at translating the web page that the Magpie gave us the link for.

    Stadiums

Gerland Stadium in Lyon, Stade de France and Saint Denis in Paris, and Geoffrey Guichard in Saint Etienne.

    Tickets

There will be a "pass" system (like the one used for the World Cup in 1998). Today, you can reserve the "City Pass" or the "City Pass + Region."

    City Pass

The City Pass involves the matches in the first round. You can see all 4 matches scheduled in each venue.

-This assures that you will see the French National Team as well as the National Team of Brasil.

-You get a 25 per cent discount from the face price of the tickets. You basically get 4 tickets for the price of 3 during the first round.

Lyon Pass: The 4 matches at Gerland Stadium, Wednesday June 18 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving the French National Team), Friday, June 20 at 7:00 P.M. Saturday June 21 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving the Brazilian national team) and Monday June 23 at 9:00 P.M.

Paris Saint-Denis Pass: The 4 matches held at the Stade de France, Wednesday June 18 at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 19 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving Brazil) Saturday June 21 at 9:00 P.M. and Sunday June 22 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving France).
NOTE: The link gives prices as follows: $150 dollars for category I, $100 for Category II and $55 for Category III).

Saint-Etienne Pass: All 4 matches at Geoffrey-Guichard Stadium Thursday June 19 at 7:00 P.M. Friday June 20 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving France) Sunday June 22 at 9:00 P.M. and Monday June 23 at 9:00 P.M. (match involving Brazil).

    CITY PASS + REGION PASS

I will try to translate this later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I had to prepare my wife for it, so I mentioned it yesterday (I wonder what she'll demand in return?!?! :p) I figure a good 5 months in advance should be enough time to butter her up ...

I'm planning to go to at least one of the matches, but don't know which one yet. I've also got a Scottish friend that is interested in going that I'll convert into a USMNT fan for a day! :)

    Hey Captain10,
I'm hoping for Lyon matchup. That is only about 4 1/2 hours from us. St. Etienne would not be bad either. Stay in touch so we can get over there in June. Also, call me if you want to see another Grasshoppers game after the thaw.

    Maverick,
I've moved from Mainz and am now in soccer limbo down in Zurich. While my access to the Bundesliga has come to an complete stop, at least there is plenty of French and Italian football on the tube. Otherwise its all skiing and rugby.

    Gents,
Just a warning but Paris in June can be very expensive. Think train, not rental car and consider flying into London and taking Ryanair or Easyjet (Euro equivalents to Southwest Airlines) to get into France.

    Avoir till June,

    Chris
