Just checking to see if anyone knows of any bars/pubs that will be showing the Confed Cup games?

I know they are on Galavision and Telefutura, but I sure as heck don't get those on my cable system.

Any ideas, locations would be much appreciated - any viewing parties?

    Thanks in advance,
    dncm

I've watched Galavision at Kinvara on Harvard Street in Allston a couple of times, so I expect to be there. I'm going to stop in soon to see if they get TeleFutura

And while we're at it, how about us out here in the wild west? The only way for me to see the game this past week was to drive to Foxboro since I don't get WB 56 out here. Now I hope that I can watch these matches closer to home than Boston. Anyone know some place in Worcester or Springfield? Perhaps Smokey Bones?

MT, if you find somewhere out in the Worcester area, please post as well. That is somewhat closer and given some of the game times, may be a better option...For me at least.

But the more places that are posted, the better for all, I'm sure.

    Thanks

    The Overdraft?

Do you think the Overdraft in Cambridge would have the game?

It's possible, and I'm sure we can check on this over the weekend with the management there.

Not positive, but according to tvguide.com people in Allston should have Telefutura on cable (50A)

    Comcast suxs!

Comcast only has Univision and Telefutura in their lineup. That means for most in MA you will only get to see from home the US-Brazil and the US-vs (other finalist) in the Championship game.

I sure hope that the Galavision games are offered at the overdraught or other drinking establishments.

RCN cable has Galavision. Unfortunately I can't get RCN in my town.

My place in NH gets Telefutura as far as I can tell, so the closest place would be your TV.

Now all the Galavision games during the week are on tape delay

    Thursday, 19th @ 7PM v. Turkey
    Monday, 23rd @ 9PM v. Cameroon

Saturday's match is still on TeleFuture at 3PM which is channel 50A for Boston stations and available in Somerville as well.

Its also an over the air station in Boston on Ch. 66

    bump.

Okay, so Thursday's game is really shown only at 7pm. Sounds like the making for a good party night.

Has anyone confirmed the Overdraught is the place to meet?

If someone can let me know the name of a bar(if not Overdraught) where poeple are meeting up to watch (if there is anyone - on some of the US boards, doesn't seem, to be much fanfare for this event) - that would be great. Either Boston or Metrowest - doesn't matter to me.

    Thanks, dncm

I think all the people that usually deal with the Overdraught are in France.

    Bump, dammit, Bump!

Ixnay on the Kinvara, I was told they have NO soccer this week.

I can find no listing in the phone book or on the net for "Overdraught" in Cambridge. What/where is it?

Any other "soccer" pubs in town? Come on folks, this is serious! Let's get to work!

Ok I called the Overdraught and they said they would show both the Thursday and Monday games as they don't have any conflicting events.

I don't think I can make it Thursday, but I should be able to Monday.

Unfortunately that phrase will always be associated with that terrible 80's hair band. (Please tell me it wasn't Great White)

But I know what you mean... when you call for info sometimes you run the risk of talking to the clueless waiter .

Plough & Stars says no soccer on the blackboard or on the website. However they recommend calling ON THURSDAY to double check.

However, seeing as how we have a confirmed sighting at Overdraught, I will see you there!

It's clear for Thurs and Mon, but what about Sat??

Is the Overdraught showing the Saturday game vs Brazil? If not, where?
