Confed Cup Viewing During Lunch Thursday Anybody have any info on where to catch the US v. Turkey match at noon in the Loop or environs? Will Fado be showing the match?
Re: Confed Cup Viewing During Lunch Thursday Galavision cancelled their live showings of weekday games. The game will be tape delayed tonight. If you are able to get the game, it would have to be on some foreign satellite channel?
Re: Re: Confed Cup Viewing During Lunch Thursday I was looking last night and the USA-Turkey game is tape delayed at 6:00 p.m. on Galavision (I believe it's 403 on DirecTV or something very close to that). It is immediately followed by the Brazil-Camroon game.
I am pretty sure that if you are in Chicago and have Comcast (formerly ATT) Galavision is on Channel 78. I have digital cable and ran through the menu last night, and there was no mention of futbol at 6:00, but those menus are not updated all that frequently. Fingers crossed that the game will be on at 6:00 on Channel 78 for all Chicago Comcast customers.
I just checked and it looks like I don't have it. I got Comcast Glendale/Dupage. No digital. Well, maybe it will be on. I got three spanish channels but odds are the one I want today I won't have.
Hm, I have four Spanish channels. If you have basic and it's just running into your TV, you might try rescanning your channels. In Aurora 15 is Telefutura, 16 is Univision, 19 is Telemundo, and 35 is Galavision.
Galavision had the tape of the France/Colombia match last night but I think it was edited. I live on the northside of Chicago and have Comcast digital - Galavision is ch. 78. The menu did not list USA/Turkey for this evening but I've seen it listed there on the ussoccer website.
Keep all discussion of the matches and tv in this thread...as well as any results. Not everyone will see it before tonight and some I know are watching it on the internet or listening to it now. This way it's a little easier to avoid coming across results unexpectedly.
38th minute: Goal by Beasley, assisted by Donovan. Turkey 0 : 1 USA Howard's big goal kick, gets up to Donovan on right flank. He serves up a great cross to Beas at the back post, header goes past keeper into right side of goal. 39th minute: PK Awarded to Turkey. Sanli collected through ball in the box, fouled by Hejduk. Yellow to Donovan for talking to ref. 41st minute: Kick being taken by Yilmaz. Turkey 1 : 1 USA Knocked it stiff into the lower left of goal to tie the match. Crowd is going crazy. On the foul, he collected the ball, two US defenders came to him, Hejduk maybe a bit from behind, but looked to get ball. [Zach would have stopped that PK (ok, maybe not, but Adin probably would have), Curtin would have made sure there was no foul]
dude, the fire suck. DC would be #1 if the league didn't want to diversify the winners. Ok, wait, i'm full of shiite. I can't wait till I watch the game tonight to scream at the TV after it becomes clear that the Uruguayan monkey who is reffing the game blew that call like a $2 whore.
I couldn't figure out how to get the audio from eurosport.com, but socceraudio.com had the link. Thanks for tipping me off that it was on audio. I also read via the ussoccer.com page.
Actually, I don't think he cares much if they win or lose. I think he wants to continue to evaluate so that he knows what he has to work with when the games that count roll around. There is definately a competitive nature that makes Arena go out and say we want to win, but when it comes down to it, these games are just more tune-ups for the qualifiers.
