I know the team goes to Lyon on the 11, and plays a "game" on the 8th in VA. Does this mean that camp starts on the 8th? or does it start sooner? -B
actualy the camp started today and playing the last friendly on 8th before leaving for Lyon So none of the guys are playing in MLS games this week I assume...
Vegas, I'll be in your town when the tournament starts...are there any good places out there where I can catch the games? Do you think they'll have them on in the sports books?
That was the original plan. There are now rumors of some players being 'released' from camp to return to their club teams this weekend. During the SJ match last weekend, the announcers mentioned several times that Yallop has requested that LD be made available to play this weekend for SJ. Compared to other countries, club v. country conflicts are very minimal between MLS and USMNT; it'll be interesting to see how Bruce handles this one.
...none of the guys who are in the camp right now but, however some will be released for their club match
I understand teams that are decimated by injury asking for this. I understand SJ particularly. But, Arena must hold his ground. He doesnt ask for much from MLS in the way of missing games for meaningless stuff. Just see the last friendly, he could have called up a regular team and MLS guys would have missed another game. Instead he called in almost all DC and SJ guys, plus two guys that were red carded. I think they all should stay in camp and the MLS teams should deal with it. Otherwise what is the point in setting up, paying for, and having a friendly that is supposed to be a warm up for the team that will be on the field vs. Turkey?
