Anyone else out there with Dish Network check their program guides? All Confederations Cup games on Univision/Galavision/Telefutera are BLACKED OUT!!!!! How can they be blacked out if they are not on PPV or in my area. I am ************ING PISSED!!!! Someone tell me this is a mistake.
It makes zero sense. Does Dish have a phone number to call about such things? I don't have Dish. Not only are the matches not on PPV, they aren't in the USA so it sure doesn't come under one of those non-sellout reasons for a local market blackout.
check the listings again - most matches will be shown on same day tape in the evening - IIRC only the brazil-US and one other game are being televised live until the medal round if not, get directv
Gee, after weeks of looking I finally found someone to tape the games for me and let me pick them up right after without knowing the scores, and I don't have any idea which service they get
The games are all on Dish Network's online schedule. This was on their sports blackout page. There's more there but nothing that would apply to the Confederations Cup. Blackout Regulations The most commonly asked RSN questions are usually about blackouts. In the world of sports broadcasting, situations arise when FOX Sports Net is not permitted to broadcast games in certain parts of the country. These blackouts are designed to protect the individual team territories and rights to certain games purchased by programmers other than FOX Sports Net. Blackouts on the Regional Sports Networks are not based on arena sellouts. They are in place to protect the various broadcast rights holders for each game. Each league, NBA, NHL and MLB, determine it's team territories differently. Consequently, an NBA team and a MLB team from the same market will have drastically different local blackouts areas. This can be a confusing subject at times, this section explains the different scenarios in the simplest form.
According to Dish it will not be blacked out anywhere. If any screen schedules show it blacked out. It is a tech error. So they say.
My brother has DirecTV and the games will be shown tape delayed at 7pm except for the Brazil match which will be shown live on Telefutura at 3pm. DirecTV to my knowledge doesn't carry Telefutura so I have to miss that one.
They carry Telefutura. I called them about that. Anyone on Direct TV can get it. If you don't already, call them and you will. They told me that on the phone. Even in the middle of the Alaskan tundra you can get it.
Just got home after a hike, will check again. Right before I left the info had changed from blacked out to no info available. Hopefully they were fixing the problem. PS. GOLTV on Dish now, channel 407. in english.
Just got this from DISH Thank you for your email. We are unable to find program listings regarding your inquiry beginning 06/19/03. However, the "Copa Confederacions 2003: Colombia vs. Japon" (Futbol) is scheduled to be broadcast on 06/22/03 on Univision (channel 270) at 1:00 pm. We apologize that we cannot provide you with more detailed information at this time. Please continue to visit our website for programming updates as they become available. If you have any further questions or concerns, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-333-3474 so that we may further assist you.
I see it ok on my program guide. It's called the "Copa FIFA" in some places, but that's it. If there was a problem, maybe they fixed it.
On my digital cable it's called "Futbol Copa Mundial" which means World Cup football. I bet someone will wonder if they fell asleep for 3 years.
It is wierd. If I use my "search" option on my PVR reciever, all games come up as blacked out. But if I scroll out to next week on my program guide they aren't blacked out.
I think the Goddess of Fire, Pele, is mad at all things soccer. It was Pele of Brazil that took her name and made it more famous than she did. Perhaps if you go to her volcano and throw a San Jose jersey in, things will get better for a bit.
DirecTV does NOT carry Telefutura's national feeds. Only those DirecTV subscribers who live in markets with Telefutura affiliates can get Telefutura.
Well then they were wrong because I asked them exactly that to make sure they were not confused. They said anyone, anywhere with Direct TV can get the national feed if they call them. They said it is available also in packages such as Espanol Para Todos or something like that. Anyway. They said anyone anywhere that gets DirectTV can receive it. If they were wrong then it was the supervisor's error.
