But if anything for the CanPL I think it's going to happen in Canada, that after FIFA World Cup 2026 that soccer will be number 2 sport behind hockey. It will be something similar like in Russia or Czech Republic where hockey and soccer are two top sports. Hockey will always be more popular in Canada. There wouldn't be much competition in between hockey and soccer for audience because hockey is a winter sport and CanPL will play in summer season. So Canadian sports fans will have a whole year to look on something.

CONCACAF will expand the Champions League in 2023 It is confirmed that the Canadian Premier League will gain 2 direct entries into CCL via the regular season as of 2023 They will still have a 3rd way to enter the competition by winning the Canadian Championship which is our domestic cup In this CONCACAF League competition, 2020 Champions Forge FC finished 7/22 teams overall and eliminated the highest ranked club Tauro FC in Panama City. This is both a huge challenge and opportunity for the CPL!
