i really should already know this - but i don't, so i'll ask.

who will be representing the US in the upcoming concacaf cup? is it the US open cup winner (kc) and the MLS cup winner (dcunited)? for some reason i was thinking that it's not all that simple.

    thanks in advance.

sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere. i couldn't find it - though my search was hardly exhaustive.

It is the winner of each conference. Hence, DCU and KC.

Sorry, your a little off here. DC yes were MLS champions but the Conference Champs were KC and Columbus; Not DC. Conference champion is based on the regular season standings.

However as stated above the representatives are the two MLS Cup finalists = KC & DC.

The conference Champions were decided in the playoffs. DC and KC are the conference champions, Columbus won nothing.

Yep, thought of it about an hour after I posted it after trying to recall some media things I'd received from the club. I'm am in error. The above is correct.

Well, strictly speaking, Columbus won the Supporter's Shield. While this doesn't gain you a spot in the Champion's Cup, it's not "nothing".

Frankly, I'd rather have the shield.

You might be the only one. I don't even think the teams care much about the Supporter Shield. But whatever floats your boat I suspect.
