Well, it's 4 in the morning over here and I was definitely gonna wait until later today to finish up the thread, but it seemed like some people were a bit grumpy about the fact that I posted about the next regular season MLS fixture rather than this CONCACAF group stage match Oh, by the way, isn't the Puerto Rico Islanders logo the most godawful thing you have all seen? Especially when sitting right next to the beautiful masterpiece that is our logo. I'm gonna go and catch some ZzZz's now. Night y'all.
Hopefully LD is ready to go and Juninho continues his hot streak... WOuld say the team still has some growing to do, but overall seem to be heading in the right direction this time of year...
I want to thank bubble for her funny ass P/I/P'S they are always detailed and witty. Thank you for taking the time to post them, And personally nothing is worse than shitvas logo that is the bottom of the port o potty for me.
Guys better bring the intensity. These are the games that teams like the Islanders have circled months ahead of time --- a chance to showcase themselves on National TV against a marquee team, etc. Hope Donovan is ready to go, because without Keane we really need his passing and offensive execution... As far as lineup goes, I would love to see the same starters as the last two games, but not sure how long they can go without a break -- might need to swap out some of the tired legs for this one...
I'm thinking all three DP's are going to be out for this game. Which I don't really mind, considering how big the Vancouver game is in less then a week. If we have our championship back-line starting on Wed. we'll shut them out. I could see the subs we used on Sunday (Mike Stephens, Villareal, Pat Noonan) starting instead of our DP's. We still win 2-0. Goals from Villareal and Juninho.
Terrible logos are a requirement in the minor leagues. Columbus didn't get the memo in '96 that MLS stood for "Major" League Soccer so we went ahead and did a bad job too. Once again, I'm bringing at least one soccer newbie to the match! Hope it's as exciting as last time. Are any tailgates going on where we could stop by?
This game is a classic trap. We had bad officiating and still beat the heck out of our opponent last week, so I could see the team getting complacent. The only saving grace is that the Islanders took up out of this competition two years ago, so I expect the team to be focused for that reason. Go Galaxy!
Dude just curious are you a crew fan converted to galaxy fan? Only asking because 99.9% of us on here put LA Galaxy as our club, Even those who live in other states. Don't take it wrong the more the merrier just curious.
C-Bus is a recent transplant to the LA area, I think. And seems like a good person who is bringing potential new-soccer-fans to games. So I applaud his (or her) dedication...
Seconded, and no doubt being exposed to Galaxy soccer can only have a have a positve effect on someone who's had to endure years of Ohio weather.
I give it a big as well glad he/she saw the light. Like I said the more the merrier taking new football fans to a club like ours should help the cause, Nothing like watching a small time club in OHIO!
Thank you Sir! You actually sent me a PM to introduce me to GalaxySteve something like 6 months ago. Now I go to him for tickets. This'll be my second newbie in 2 weeks and I have more lined up for future games. I've actually traveled for the least decade. I was a regular at Colorado's old and new stadiums and, unfortunately, had a spell of going to DC United games....not the nicest fans. But yes, SoCal weather is life's reward for my patience in the midwest/south and I love it here. Ouch! That small time club won the MLS Cup in the Home Depot Center! I know, I was there! I've actually secretly watched most LA games since Donovan came back from Germany. Knowing this, my closest Crew friends are not comfortable with me living here and going to all the games. Anyway, hello everyone. I enjoy watching your team and introducing others to the awesomeness that is MLS. Oh...and I'm a dude.
Let me add my own "welcome aboard." glad to have another poster and especially glad to see someone excited enough about the league to introduce others to the experience. That is the kind of organic growth that will do more good for the league in the long run than any imported stars.
Hey C-bus! Thank you for promoting our sport! I just emailed you your tickets for this match, let me know about Saturday's game. Thanks again! Steve
Kinsley is . My best friend is pretty much the long lost clone of Kinglsey... Well, more like Kingsley in drag . I'm just lying in wait for the opportune moment to whip out the Heskey and KSI memes. The Kingsley recap for this week was more than applicable.
