Actually Honduras and Canada are ahead of the USA when it comes to allocating concacaf spots, perhaps USA MLS should get 2 spots and Canada 3, they do have a better record in the CCL, thanks to Montreal I believe.
Damn that PK they called against the mighty Cruz Azul was absolute garbage! Good thing we still won the game. I was thinking this had conspiracy written all over it, but the better team just prevailed. Does anyone know what the mls record vs the FMF is now?
Okay, after round two of CCL play is over, can we call group A the 'group of death' instead of group C? All the teams in A, except for Unido, look to have a pretty good chance of moving on. Unido won't move on cause the refs won't be on there side on the road.

http://www.concacafchampions.com/page/CL/LiveConsole/0,,12856,00.html Welcome to tonight’s CONCACAF Champions League Group D match between Toluca from Mexico and Olimpia from Honduras. Your officials for tonight’s encounter are from Costa Rico, your referee is Hugo Cruz and his assistants are Osvaldo Luna and Marvin Ramirez, your fourth official is Roberto Garcia from Mexico.
The fourth official in PR has always be from PR, the fourth official isn't really very influential in games.
Please do not get MLS fans started on the 4th official . Saprissa up 2-1 Marathon Municipal 0-0 Joe Public
In the CCL, ALL 4th officials are local. All of them. In all games in the USA, the 4th official is from the USA.
LOL, even CONMEBOL does that during Libertadores when a game is played in Mexico. Yet Mexican teams don't have an undefeated record against South American teams in Mexico.
And in the process, Roy Myers went from staring down a vote of confidence/getting the chop to receiving congratulations from Jorge Vergara himself (I wonder if Vergara ever bothered to call Bradley or Preki when they got Chivas USA to the playoffs ).

lol maybe the CCL should always be played entirely in the U.S. just like the stupid liga and the shit gold cookie cup so then maybe mls teams can get the help it needs to get the equal fairness they so richly deserve

For everyone's who's been complaining about the refereeing from the Toronto and Columbus CCL games at the end of August, I'd like to ask two favors. 1) Please watch the highlights of tonight's Chicago Fire-Toronto FC game (MLS league play). 2) Get used to it (in the short term). I'm not rejecting all complaints of favoritism and the like; rather, I just want to point out that referees kinda suck everywhere in our corner of the world. And, as has already been mentioned, they tend to heavily favor home teams.
I watched the game, or as much of it as I could stomach, and I must say I was disappointed but not surprised; it was just another example of 'officially' managed results. It's one reason why a lot of soccer fans won't take MLS seriously: raise the cap, bring in more dp's, bring in all the skilled players you want, but when a soccer fan takes the time and makes the investment (whether in dollars or emotionally) to watch a game, they don't want the outcome decided by the referee. I would say get used to it not only in the short term but also in the long term - or find something else to do with your time. Incompetence is one thing; but if as you say referees are 'heavily' favouring home teams, then we're talking about something else, something that plagues the sport and is not easily controlled/eradicated.
Interesting news out of Honduras: after a bad stretch in the domestic league, Marathon's replaced Nicolas Suazo with their new coach (and Honduran parliament member ) Edwin Pavon. His coaching CV includes having gotten Olimpia to the final of the 2000 Champions Cup, when they lost to the LA Galaxy and qualified to that year's FIFA Club World Championship before it folded.
