A little is going at the moment. 1860: sold Vidar Riseth to Rosenborg Trondheim for 250 K - they once got him from Celtic for 1.5 M Bremen: loaned talent Simon Rolfes to Reutlingen Schalke: signed Stuttgart's Jochen Seitz (26, left mid, 106 BL games) as free transfer for three years starting next summer. This increases speculations that Schalke wants to get rid off Jörg Böhme
Bayern signed Argentinan defender Martin Demichelis (20, River Plate) for 5M. He'll come over for the 2003/04 season. Hargreaves and Santa Cruz have extended their contracts for four years as well.
Stuttgart: fired GM Rolf Rüssmann, who now demands 500 K compensation. Possible successor is Wolfgang Holzhäuser, currently one of three Bayer managers – OTOH he is interested to be the no.1 GM in a club, but OTOH he just signed a long deal with Bayer. Bayern/Wolfsburg: the deal with Pablo Thiam seems to be completed. At least the agent said that he expects Thiam in Wolfsburg for the training start after the winter break. Wolfsburg tries to sign 22 year old Argentinean Frederico Insua of Indepediente (mid) – problem: they were told that he costs 3M, but now Galatasaray also entered the race. Schalke: it is very unlikely that the contract with Jörg Böhme will be extended. Berlin: Rob Maas and Rene Tretschok don’t get a contract for the next season. Michael Preetz and Jolly Sverrisson retire. Hamburg: the GMs are flying to Japan on Friday to sign the deal with Naohiro Takahara (23/forward). Haim Revivo (30, mid) has a contract offer until the end of this season plus one year option for both sides – Fenerbahce demanded an option that he may not be transferred to Galatasaray or Besiktas, but Hamburg doesn’t care for that. Bochum/Dortmund: if Dortmund is willing to pay part of his salary (2M) and loan him for free, then Sunday Oliseh will play in Bochum for the rest of this year. Also new in Bochum is Cristian Fiel, 22, attacking mid of Union Berlin. Bremen: Holger Wehlage is loaned to Union Berlin until the end of this season.
Yesterday Hamburg signed Naohiro Takahara. He signed a 2 1/2 year contract. As his contract in Japan expired, he would have been a free transfer according to the FIFA statutes, but Hamburg paid 100 K to not offend the Asian mentality.
been a long time since i posted here havent been able to watch many liga matches but how is Tobias Rau of Wolfsburg? Heard Bayern are interested and he will make up his decision soon
Thorsten Fink won't get a new contract at Bayern Munich. He has a date with GM Uli Hoeneß who'll either offer him a job offside the pitch or wants him to guide the reserves in D3. After that Fink will decide whether accepting or listen to other offers. Simon Jentzsch has an offer of VfL Wolfsburg. 1860 reacted and offered him a new contract. Haim Revivo won't sign in Hamburg. HSV and Revivo obviously had different ideas about the salary. Markus Münch, top backer of the kicker ranking, has big problems with Gladbach Coach Meier. If a club offers enough, he'll be allowed to go. Tobias Rau will most likely sign with Bayern Munich. He shall learn of Bixente Lizarazu for one year and then take over his spot. Questionable whether this is a clever move for him. Luiz Fernando Martinez, 22 year old offensive mid of FC Guarani, is linked with Bremen. Marek Heinz of Hamburger SV will most likely sign a loan deal until summer with Bielefeld within this week. Claudio Pizarro complained in an interview about Otmar Hitzfeld and doesn't exclude a transfer if things don't change. His contract lasts until 2005 though.
