I know it would be a bit large, unwieldy, and maybe impossible, but does anyone have a complete bracket for WC qualifying? I am a bracket man, and it seems like it would be pretty cool to see the whole thing laid out, from the first prelims, to those who qual for the finals, all the way to WC champion.
I don't know of any such document. If you go to the Germany 2006 website and print off the pdf files for the individual qualifying regions I believe they may contain brackets. If you combined them you may be able to form a kind of "super bracket" that you are looking for.
Only in the US.... Too bad there wasn't a bracket that would help Ammericans figure out who to vote for!
Sorry, it was just a visual example (good-natured) as to how Americans like to reduce things into brackets. That was the just the bracket for the Florida girls high school soccer champonships, one of the prettiest brackets, doncha think. I think the closest thing FIFA has ever come to producing a bracket was for the schedule for the CONCACAF 2006 WCQ Draw: http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/releases/concacaf_draw_procedure_en.pdf I was keeping my eye on the other documents, and I don't think they ever produced anything similiar for the other Confederations which you could use to construct a WCQ Superbracket. So, there IS a challenge for those bracketphiliacs out there!!
I think the best you can hope for is what eejit suggested. Really, the nature of the preliminaries doesn't translate to a bracket, because in the majority of cases one team doesn't eliminate one other team. There are some exceptions, but again that is probably not what you have in mind.
Sorry about the misunderstanding. CONCACAF might be the only one that has a bracket system towards the end of their qualifiers. CONMEBOL and UEFA play the qualifiers in groups. I'm prety sure Africa and Asia play in groups also. CONCACAF is weird.
