FOX Sports World has picked up the paintball show Splatter Factor for airing starting in July. The host of Splatter Factor is none other than the resident comedian at 10000 Santa Monica Blvd: "Mad" Max Bretos.
OLN showed some big paintball world series from Florida this past weekend. Uh-oh, looks like we've got a rights war going! Thx, Jay!
Good.... let him commentate on that instead of UEFA cup games and Argentine football.... his commentary in the Celtic v Porto game was absolutely awful... thank god for FSWE... I wish they would put new blood into FSW commentators...its time for some changes Cantona---
I ran an impropmtu focus group of Celtic fans watching the UEFA Cup final. Some sample replies included... "shut the ************ up Bretos you muppet" and "what the ************ is he going on about" and "what?"
exactly, thats the same reaction i have from all the football fans down here in south texas.... FSW needs to change their announcers.... they are rubbish... the core fans that keep this channel in business are demanding a change... bretos may be ok for the us occasional viewer... but the people who pay the money... the expats want someone better... and it doesnt have to be english or scottish... for me JP dellacamera is fine.... i would rather watch the game in spanish than listen to the comedy routine of bretos and hopkins.... Cantona---
Sounds just like the scouse fans in the place I was in, watching Liverpool-Alaves a couple years ago.
Bretos, go to the MLS...they want you.. noone eslse does...if the US MLS fans think he is the broadcaster of choice .........then fine... take him.....the people that make the channel money dont......this guy is a second rate commedien at best. let hiiim do his "stich" on on ESPN"......... JP and Tommy did a fine broadcast of the UEFA CLL FINAL.............. ESPN international coverage is great... hopefully we will get this with ESPN Deportes..... Cantona----------
Seconded. Bretos did a great UEFA Cup Final. I love him on the Argentine broadcasts as well (I don't like his sidekick, whoever that guy is). He's also excellent on MLS broadcasts.
FINALLY... while SplatterFactor may be some cheesy show it's great to see paintball on tv again. OLN had some great coverage from last years WC in Orlando. For those whining about it being on FSW, too bad. It's the fastes growing extreme sport in the US and has surpassed some other traditional sports as well.
Sounds good to me but I am not sure why they went for Paintball and didn't go all out to get the SlamBall rights.
