You know how when it comes to playoffs every year the NFL comes up with commercials that imagines fans talking about their teams or players in the preseason and we know that the exact opposite has happened. Like, this year's for example is: "This is the year for the Raiders. 4-0 preseason baby." "Jeff Garcia? I think he's playing in Calgary...for the Stampeders." "LT is a good runningback...in between the 20s." and so forth. My favorite one was from last year where a Dolphins fan says that Ricky Williams is concentrating on one thing only, scoring touchdowns. If you had to come up with some of these lines for the past MLS season what would it be? Here's a few from me: "Don't worry, the popularity of the league will upswing after we make the quarters in the World Cup again." "This is Freddy's year. He'll lead the league in goals and then go to Real...Madrid." "I think this year will be the year the MetroStars settle down and have a quiet, successful season."
LA Galaxy Fan - "We're a superclub, Alexi told us so." Chivas USA Legion 1908 - "Chivas ganará la liga! ¡Arriba! Chivas!" DC United Fan - "The way we're playing, the tripple is a possibility." Kansas City Fan - "Plan A is gonna work!" FC Dallas Fan - "We're stronger than United. We should win the Supporter's Shield, they're playing like crap right now."
Revolution fan: "Third time's the charm, baby." or: "We're not playing LA, so we have this one in the bag."
Bradley: Can you believe how cheap we got O'Brien for? We'll show United what bang for the buck is all about!
"Moreno is washed up. He'll never score goals again." "Because the Earthquakes aren't playing in that little bandbox of a field anymore, Kinnear won't know how to coach and the team won't know how to play. They'll suck." "Paying customers are where it's at; they're driving the market. MLS is too smart to give away too many free comps."
