We have a Poker of Yanks at the bottom of the Premiership: #17 Boro w/Guzan mostly riding bench; #18 Stoke with Cameron; #19 Swansea under Bob; #20 Sunderland with Gooch. CCV, Hyndman & Zelalem also in the Premiership, but haven't played a minute in the league.
He also fumbled a cross that led to a cross in front of a wide open goal that Koscielny whiffed on. And aggressively came out for a ball outside the area that led to Walcott having an open goal from 25 yards, but he scuffed the chance. He made some good saves, but he was very shaky, and could have been totally at fault for two goals on a different day.
he's always been listed as that. perhaps he is 6'3. it wouldn't be a shock for someone to add an inch to their height. it's why i'm known as 5'11
Victor Valdes is launching a dating app: https://whatahowler.com/middlesbrou...aunching-a-dating-app-a035251dbcd0#.ip2dzesgo
He's on the bench right now against Man City and Victor Valdes just picked up a nasty gash in his leg....it pretty much looks like a hole in his thigh. He may end up getting subbed off at half to get stitched up
Yep, this could be Guzan's first chance to play in an EPL match in over two months. Edit: Guzan sat up from the bench and started warming up on the sideline. That is, in all seriousness, likely the most physical action he's gotten with Boro during game time in the last 2+ months.
Well, Guzan didn't enter the match after all. Unless as an injury replacement, there's no way he will after Valdes has helped Boro to draws at Arsenal and Man City. At least he got to warm up.
He would've been sitting on our bench so I guess it's better to be sitting on Middlesbrough's bench instead. I also reckon Brough will stay up so he will continue to be in the premiership. Who knows, maybe some random club will come in for Brad sometime soon.
I'm assuming Boro's probably a happier place to be at the moment, too. The atmosphere at Villa seemed to get quite toxic if I'm not mistaken last season.... cancelled player of the year award, fans turning on the players, owners, etc... for good reason I guess, but I guess the fans probably see guys like Brad as part of the old guard that let them down last season. Probably a lot more optimistic to be at newly promoted Middlesbrough. And being just behind former Barca keeper Valdez, a world cup, European cup, Champions League, La Liga, you name it-winner is nothing to be ashamed about. If he were at Villa, he'd be behind erm, Gollini... I mean, could there be a more aptly named person for his professions than that? With a name like that Gollini is just destined to be a goalie, what's the point in even trying to compete?
Kinda feel bad for ole Guzan. All those years backed up behind Friedel for club and then Howard for country and he finally gets his chance and his form for AV sucks and his NT performances seem to replicate it. Maybe it's all morale or Guzan was just overhyped for years. He did win Golden Glove at last year's Gold Cup.
At least he had that okay run at Villa. I remember thinking he might not ever get a real shot there until that one coach talked him into signing again. Tough act to follow Keller, Friedel, and Howard. We might never have that keeper depth again in top Euro leagues.
seems an overall blip. Hahnemann and Guzan produced some solid seasons that could compete with those 3 IMO. Though not as standout as Friedel and Howard of course.

It would be nice to see him take another run at a European club, but the MLS payday may be too good to refuse.
I don't think he'll get a big MLS salary. No disrespect, but he's not exactly a household name. If Sean Johnson moves to Atlanta, this would give him a chance to start and would allow him to stake a claim to the US #1 role. Being the backup at Middlesbrough isn't going to do that for Arena.
I agree. Bundesliga would be interesting to see him in or Serie A. though i doubt he'd get more then 800 K-million a year in MLS.
