John Ourand over at Sports Business Journal has tweeted out that as of August 1st, regional Comcast SportsNet stations have dropped all programming from Fox Sports Net (FSN) due to a contract dispute. Questions were raised online after a handful of sports media bloggers noticed that The Dan Patrick Show, which has a distribution deal on FSN, was no longer appearing on Comcast stations. FSN apparently told Ourand that it was unable to reach a long-term agreement for its programming, while sports media site Fangs Bites has been told by an NBC Sports Group spokesman that talks between the two are continuing.

So no Champions League on FSN in CSN markets for the near-future at least.

Wow. That blows. Comcast Network in Philly was going to show Champions League matches both live and delayed on their channel from FSN and FSC. CSN Philadelphia and Comcast Network also show the nationally broadcast PAC12 football night game. I guess they'll just have to show many, many more infomercials where that Fox Sports programming used to be.

Stations affected by the CSN/FSN dispute (not all Comcast Sports networks are part of the national FSN family due to regional splits)- Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, California, Chicago, Mid-Atlantic, New England and Philadelphia.

Southern California might be less affected since FSN has got an established and owned regional station (FSN West and Prime Ticket) within the area

I thought CSN Bay Area was owned by both?

Fox does own a minority stake in CSN Bay Area. However, a look at the schedule on the CSN Bay Area website shows no programming from FSN itself is set to air on the channel over the next few weeks (including the Champions League games next Tuesday/Wednesday).

Figures CSN Philly was going to finally show games this year after not doing it for the past few years. Ugh!
