Damn! What a brave, fearless effort. Outstanding soccer, all over the field.

The boys should be really proud of themselves.

Cerritos... Wow. He is that much better than he used to be? Or is it just that he fits his role better?

I am at this moment experiencing an emotion to be named later, and have switched over to the LA game which has a scoreline of some form or another.
Cerritos, Chung and Clark had games of similar quality, and the defenders generally played behind the midfielders.

Can you imagine if we had to continually listen to those twerps who call the Galaxy games?

We are so lucky to have John & Ray.

At worst, the Quakes will remain tied for second-place in the Western Conference.

At best, they'll be in sole possession of second-place.

But going into this season, many had predicted that the Quakes would be among the bottom two teams in the West by this point. :(

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

It was the first time I watched it on the Internet through MLSnet.com.

    Worked really great!

I thought Danny did good. He's getting his confidence back, plus his parents were in the stands.

Fixed. You know, as I was writing it I was thinking "be sure to type this right" and got it wrong anyway.
I'd say the organization deserves a great deal of credit for rebuilding this team into a real competitor despite adversity.

Now that your Sat night is freed up, I think you need to take her out to dinner.

So who gets the credit? When Lalas took over, he said he was staying out of the way of soccer decisions, because Frank and Dom and Johnny had build a great team and he didn't want to interfere (I'm paraphrasing.)

So who gets credit for building this team? Dom?

    Did Lalas have any influence?

At any rate, I totally agree with you. Through design and fortune, it looks like this is a very serious and dangerous club.

one thing I noticed about this team ... we had only two players from last year on the field (three counting pat), yet the essence of the team remains the same.

hard working, good chemistry, good attitudes. I'm more impressed that they found people who are 'Quakes' more than just finding good soccer players. know what I mean?

Me too, though I didn't see all of the match. I turned it on just as Cerritos scored. Sahweeeet!

I think the team is playing well but in a run of some good luck too, perhaps to balance out some back luck earlier in the season. In any case, to get a win on the road w/o DeRo, Califf, and Ching is no mean feat. Great job again, Quakes.

    Heh,

Unfortunately, our eldest daughter's coach went on vacation and we are filling in for him. My wife went down in the last 5 minutes of practice today with an LCL issue (spent a while in Good Sam's emergency room).

She is, however, feeling better as we just saw Jeff Agoos STEAL a ball from Cobi....and the scum are still down 2 - 1!!!!!!!!

(I will take her out to dinner when she is off the crutches!!) :)

He was walking around post game. I'm hoping he didn't fracture his ankle again.

ok, but why would people come into a in/post match thread if they didn't want to see the result?
