Alright, so it is the first time I have posted in the section. So take it for what it is worth. My summary of Sunday's match. CJ Brown = sucks. Ante Rozov = sucks more. Henry Ring = what happened!!! Team Defense = sorry ass. Bocaneagra = MISS HIM... desparately. Eric Wynalda = Shut the ******** Up Already. Some positives... Nate Jaqua = NEEDS MORE TIME!!! Justin Mapp = doesn't need substituting. DMB = needs some protection from officials. Andy Williams = Give him the ball! Damani Ralph = Love him. I am spent. Anyone else wish to chime in?... Did I mention Razov = sucks? Sorry...
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. I will say I disagree with every single thing that you wrote. Everything you wrote = the opposite of true with the exception of loving Damani. p.s. great spelling.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Math sentences. Nouns doing verbs are sentences, sometimes they are described by adjectives. Play Mad Libs sometime, you'll get it after a minute.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Fire Greg Androollis, NOW oh, sorry, I am so used to doing that in every thread with the word 'Crew' I forgot myself. BTW, hell of a win, eh? Go Crew!!
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Okay, I am back with my thesarus. Let's see... well, lets start out by saying that somehow, someway as true Fire supporters, you must all have been pleased with that God aweful display of football (??!!). Come on! Who are you kidding?!! Your responses lead me to believe that you either (a) could not think of anything to response about (I take that back... "The Burden" at least had somewhat of a reply), (b) your time was wasted having read this because you are still to pissed off to respond (which I will accept...fair enough), or (c) you couldn't find the final answer to my equation. So which is it? The mathematical evaluation is just pure laziness on my part to type, plus it was meant to be somewhat humorous (which was clearly missed). So my apologies for not breaking out in my most refined Queen's English. All in all, the universe revolves around mathematics, much like the game of soccer. For example, when Henry Ring coughs up a long rebound and only three defenders have committed in giving chase to the counter attack, which one of the five midfielders responsibility would it be to cover the lone opposition's player running freely behind the defense for the easier tap in or rebounded shot? "Aw, hell, them there goals was lucky, got damit!" Yep, keep telling yourselve that. Sometime you'll figure out that since we are not strong defensively, the more teams will figure out how to play against our three in the back and put Curtain into yellow card territory so he will be reduced to soft tackling, thus render ineffective. A true Section 8 fan would not disagree that at one time or another you have not cursed the name of Ante Rozov (who cares how it is spelled... I thought he was going to stay in Spain a few years back and just erased that part of my memory forever). Why the denial now? I've seen milk turn faster... although, I regretfully must admit liking his bike attempt. (Damn it, just blew my own argument again!... note to self >> don't follow negatives with positives... they cancel out - sorry, more math). Boys, it has been a pleasure. Hope to see you at some games this season. I owe you some pints. In the back of the head from forty rows back. No, no, no... just kidding of course... there was plenty of good backwash left in those to get rid of them. Cheers.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. do you know how to spell the names of ANYONE on the team?
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Look sunshine, there are enough complainers on this board that there certainly don't need to be any more. Sure, Sunday's game wasn't as good as one would have hoped, and there have been several posts voicing concern about the Fire's inability to win against teams they should. But to create an entire thread for the sole purpose of whining and not bothering to spell or use full sentences seems like you're just being a bitch.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Everyone complains about how terrible his thread is. He doesn't like it. Does anyone see the Irony?
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. I apologize for taking this thread seriously, but I was quite underwhelmed with Justin Mapp on Sunday. For one thing, he's clearly been attending the Kelly Gray Academy of Shooting. His penetrating runs with the ball in the first half seemed OK, but he rarely did anything with his distribution. There's all this praise about his potential, but I'd like to see some of it developed pretty quick. Our crosses into the box are about as pathetic as the movement by the potential targets standing around in the box, and our total lack of effectiveness on corners is getting tiresome. CJ has been a hot/cold guy for a couple years now. Now that Perez seems fit, I think it might be time to bring CJ inside along with Curtin and go with 4 in the back. There's little sense in having Armas and Pause on the field at the same time, especially considering their combined uselessness on the Martino goal. I also happen to think that the Marsch - Armas combo is a redundant midfield if we want to play an attacking game. We need a right winger who can cross the ball. And shoot it. I hate to say it, but right now, I'd love to have Chris Klein, Steve Ralston, or Cobi Jones on the Fire. Well, maybe not Jones. One more thing. Didn't Beasley miss some international game a year or so ago because Hejduk had hurt his ankle on a tackle at practice? I didn't get a good view of the tackle that got him carded on Sunday. How bad was it?
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Having only seen it the one time, live and in person, without benifit of replay I truly thought it was Red card bad. It was 1) beyond late 2) completely from behind and 3) a 'professional' attempt at stopping a break through foul. Admittedly it could be homerism but I thought/think it deserved a straight red. I'd like to see the replay though. As to this eissman character, ther is plenty to complain about the game but since your complaints were almost completely opposite of what anybody else saw people natural fealt it was best just to make fun of you. Let's see CJ has been very solid this year. He had a slight let down in this game but still didn't 'suck' and doesn't 'suck' Rozov? Oh that's been covered. Ante actually played pretty decent in the first half. He completely dissappeared in the second though. In the first half you will notice that he was making very intelligent runs off the ball and created a couple of very good chances. He also almost converted a sweet bicycle kick. I was dissapointed with Razov this game but again I am not ready as a Fire fan to say our all time leading scorer "sucks" Umm, he got caught almost one on one two times?? That'll do it every time. Not many keepers could have saved the three that went in. There were some let downs. The most obvious one was Martinos run but team defense is what keeps us going when we have to cover for the Whitfield and Gray's of the world. Sure Not hardly. We are in first place which is better then where we were this time last year. I don't know why this is news but since I was at the game I have nothing to say about this. He has had lots of time. I am one of the few Nate supporters actually but he needs to put away some shots, especially the one he had on the doorstep. I thought he was generally good when he came on though. What game were watching?? Justin was almost useless this game. The second game in a row that he has played poorley. He isn't make good runs off the ball and he takes terrible support angles. He needs to be able to shoot on the run as well. The kid needs some work. I might bench him for a game or two so maybe he can get the point that he can't coast on his potential anymore. He is awarded the most fouls in the league for like the past three years, what more can they do? Though I think Hejduk should have seen red Let's give him about 100 balls and place them on the left corner spot for him so he can try and get the damn ball over the first defender. But I do love Andy. He's played great this year. As well you should. So you say you never post on this board. Maybe you should read more before you do next time and learn a thing or two. It may save you some ridicule.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Aw, give the guy a break fellahs. He's still learnin'. eissman, I didn't see a lot of individual suckage on Sunday. But somehow good players managed to collectively suck a lot. I wouldn't be sweating too much except that this is the fourth or fifth time they've played like this and that has me worried. I'll go player by player to rebut your reviews. Hey, were not Real Madrid -- were better than that -- but our players are quality. C.J.: While not his best game he's one of the best defenders in the league. Curtin: Early yellow handcuffed him. Personally, I don't think the 3-4-3 suits him. He seems to need to rely more on brute force in this formation. I think having Boca back there spoiled him. Whitfield: Looked pretty good. Way better than Gray anyhow. DMD: Needs to get more service. He's looking like he's capable of taking up where he left off last year and improving even more but he's not seeing enough of the ball. Mapp: Great speed, good feet, ball hog. Get your head up and pass son! Right now he's making really fine runs to nowheresville. Armas: Performing a bit below his usual workmanlike, solid form in my opinion. Corner kick's SUCKED! on Sunday. Razov: Mr. Streaky needs to get started. The bike was goal of the year if it went in. Made very good runs that stretched the D. But it was Razov's header late in the second half that was emblematic of our problem. When you get a free header in the box YOU PUT THE PHUKING BALL ON FRAME **************! You don't dish off, whether theres' actually one of your players there or not -- not in this case. Jaqua: I had high hopes for the kid after last year but they are dimming quickly. Nonetheless, his best (albeit one of his shortest) outings of the year. Three things suck and continue to suck about the Fire: - Lack of direct shooting. - Abyssmal, inexcusable set-piece pefromances. Seriously, my u8 players are almost that good. - MLS Referees. That last, well I watched a couple of tight, important European games on Satruday morning then subjected myself to the LA-SJ game Saturday night and then this... It's like I'm not even watching the same game. It's like these guys were brought in from the Midwest Hockey League, given a FIFA rule book and a whistle and let loose. Disgraceful. </rant>
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. The fire/crew ref could barely get up and down the field in the second half, did anyone else notice that? How can they hire people that can't even run up and down the field and stay with the play?
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. YUO=teh sux0r Please leave the game-related comments for the actual game threads. There are plenty of complaints in there, and most of them are actually clearly-worded.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. So, the whole jist of the thread was to spark some passionate discussion about the game. True, I was entirely tooooo lazy to read someone else's thread concerning the game. I guess I was just to pissed off about what I just watched and felt like venting. In turn, this thread actually generated some intelligent responses, namely HATTRIX, JJAYG, & CMAN. Thought provoking and great responses... Thank you! We each hold our opinions about the game and individual players, and I respect those who gave this their full effort. Unfortunately, a handful of others just felt one sentence responses would suffice. Actually, it's a cop out. IF you truly disagree, then simply voice it. End of story. If not, then don't expect the same respect back when dissing others. I don't recall informing anyone else of their inadequacies. Let's be mature about this, no? Last note... when its all our chances to answer to our maker one day, I pretty certain HE will not give two ********s how I spell the roster of 2004 Chicago Fire squad. If it is my one question that will determine me entering the pearly gates, then I guess I am focked! Suppose I will be pumping up out-of-shape 18-panel balls for the Masters in Hell game somewhere. After my car accident, of course. Cheers and Let the Fire burn on my friends.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Do you not see the irony of applauding the thought and effort that others have shown when you don't put in the thought and effort to read that there are already threads on this and join in on that conversation? I think that lack of effort is the prime cause you got the reception you did.
The problem is just that if you start to make too many threads relating to the same subject (comments on Sunday's match), the board gets too cluttered. The game threads give us all a common place to say what went well and what went badly. If you have some sort of general analysis thread about certain players, formations, or coaching, you can start that separately, but there is already a place to vent about the game. I realize you're new here, but at least try to get a feel for the forum before posting new threads. Sure the game was frustrating, but try to keep a level head in here.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. As a neutral observer here, I'm laughing my balls off.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. Sure. And to your own observation, I did attempt to make amends. So, abuse or no abuse, the thread lived on. In all honesty and haste, I did give the section a quick once over prior to posting this thread and did not see a "Chicago v. Columbus [R]" type thread started. Thus the reason for mine. Not wise on my part, I see now, but nonetheless, it is something we shall all get over.
Re: Fire v. Columbus... complaints only please. As a Hindu, I believe that I will be reincarnated and therefore bypass the step of meeting my maker. (Still I praise Vishnu) But since you are still alive, i would just like to mention that you are a moron, and for that matter I hope you are subjected to the worldly hell of reading these boards every day for the rest of your miserable life. you a sucka and a busta'
