One, two, three, four, five, against one Five, five against one One, two three, four, five against one Five, five, five, five, five against one…
I couldn't be much happier for CR17 for getting the brace in that setting. And as one of the biggest Matan fanboys on this board, hats off to Tiny Vampire. (Although that goal was mostly Nagbe, of course.) Amazing stuff all around, and a true masterclass. I'm fairly certain that I've never said this about a ref when my team's opponent is given two red cards, but that guy sucked, and was likely to get someone badly hurt. I have been naiive in thinking that now, with Morris gone, Nagbe might get some protection from the league. What a freaking joke.
That is the fourth win this season by a 4-goal margin. Have to think that's close to an MLS record, if not the record. Also curious of how many teams have done it over a span of five games.
I was actually really impressed with Jones tonight. He looked composed with multiple LAFC players closing in on him, won some contested balls, and did well with distribution.
After watching Nagbe and Zawadski all game, he looked on a knifes edge to me. He held it together but makes me nervous.
Well Morris being gone increases Nagbes workload both can play 6 or 8. Zawadzki has size to win the ball but he doesn’t have the motor or the might that Morris tenaciously brought. He looked shaky a few times tonight but he played good overall. When going forward he can’t dribble and pass under distress like Morris. He has played multiple positions, the more experience he gets with Nagbe the better he is going to get.
I'm very high on JRR. He's a good player and he's going to get better. I don't know why some people on this board are so down on him. He's only 21. He's only 21! And he's a regular call-up on a decent national team. I wouldn't be surprised if we sell him to some European team in a few years. But all that said, Ramirez has locked in that starting spot for as long as he's healthy. The way the current Crew squad are connecting with each other is just beyond belief. What a team!
There were on the field plenty last year. Perhaps you saw the tee-shirts? Ramirez went dry and was re0laced with Matan. This year, Ramirez was hurt early, Cucho had his issues, and we were rotating for CCC. Arfsten adds a 4th real dangerous atracker. Yeboah and Farsi are fine offensively, but that dude is constantly dangerous. Either foot. Shoot. Pass. Dribble. Good touch and close control. 1 more game until Chambost & Jackson are in. And JRR should be back Wednesday. Charlotte are tough, it won't be a picnic. We lead the league in possession, passing%, fewest goals allowed, and GD, among other things. Up to 3rd on PPG. Six goals behind Miami for tops in goals, with 2 games in hand.
Matan started beside Nagbe last year when Morris was at Gold Cup. And just last week again. Chambost will be in the CM rotation, methinks. And perhaps wide and wingback as well.
So we're missing 3 players Wednesday night, right? (Schulte off to the Olympics, Hinestroza red card, and Habroune off to the U-20s.)
I watched a bit of Charlotte tonight. All of a sudden this looks like a big game on Wednesday. Based on how things look right now, you wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte finished 4th in the east this year. The top 3 are too far out front (hopefully), but they may well be best of the rest.
Also agree and Mățan played CM and wing back last year as well. But I think we are better with him off the bench. But Christian Ramírez is the best guy to start up top with Cucho & Rossi it’s just that he needs limited minutes until the playoffs because that’s when we really need him to shine. But depends on the opposition and what Nancy wants both are good players. Ramírez has more skill and experience but Mățan has an excellent work rate on or off the ball and more positional flexibility.
I'll admit I stole this off the Nordecke FB page, but the best part of the game is something we didn't see. The LA fans leaving the game via the I-5.
Can people who say the Crew aren’t good enough and are flawed and are fvcked because they haven’t filled in the 23rd spot on the roster kindly STFU now please? Also, Hinestroza is a bum. Get him out of here.
Nope, because no one’s said that. Only that we could be even better, and we could use even more depth. Agreed on Hinestroza. Glad JRR is back. For various reasons, I haven’t watched the game yet. Honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the score. Simply amazing. Just yesterday, I read that MLS piece about the league’s “Big 6” clubs. After last night, they might need to recalibrate. But we do need to take care of business at home on Wednesday. Charlotte looks very good.
Five to one baby One in five. NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE you get yours baby I’ll get mine! We’re gonna make it if we try!
Who said we aren’t good enough because of a small roster? I’m not sure who your apparent anger is directed at. Also you need depth incase of injuries which we have not had a lot of and that’s a great thing. Hinestroza is a young player in a new country he still needs time to settle in.
How do LAFC fans feel watching former players Rossi and Ramírez destroying them in LA? They have to both be feeling really good this morning as does Max a California kid.
Yeah, the cameras had no trouble finding people wearing Crew jerseys. Great showing. I guess there are a lot of Crew fans (and family and friends) out in SoCal.
