The awe-inspiring Eduardo Sosa assisted on a goal for Zardes. There was a second goal, but the wife needed to leave at halftime.
Whats this mean? 3 hour Thunderstorm delay, meaningless friendly match, versus the largest fireworks display in the midwest. 2,600 people staying seems pretty spectacular to me.
All of that on top of a neglected stadium and an owner actively trying to steal the team from the city.....and still a couple thousand stay. That's perseverance and commitment.
We went, and waited til 9:30, then gave up, I have to work out of town today. Who knows if we counted for attendance.
12 of us gave up after sitting in our cars for over and hour w lightening still popping all around and pouring rain. Of course got home to find that my lawn and flowers got nothing.
I loved how we played a bunch of starters for this friendly but not a single one in the USOC loss (OK, Valenzuela as a sub). Barf. 3G pisses me off sometimes.
It is a friendly. I saw Saprissa play in March. If there was a real game they were have played a lot more aggressively. They are a much more aggressive team in league play. You could see that the players were pulling up as not to injure each other. Except for Sauro who ended up in an on the ground hug and giggle with a Saprissa player.
