With LAFC, the league managed to Frankenstein a LA team that I hate more than the Galaxy and that is nearly as dumb in concept as Chivas. Welcome to MLS 4.0
This is a tough one to forecast. LAFC at their best is a much better squad than anything the Crew have faced yet. But they haven't really been playing at their best lately, most recently drawing the Fire 0-0 at home last week. They aren't on a 3 game week like we are. It's a Crew home game. I would believe anything from a Crew win by 1 to a disasterclass (and I wouldn't necessarily label a two goal loss to this high scoring team a disasterclass anyways). I think Vela brings a danger that our CBs are not as well equipped to deal with as they were with Zlatan. Sauro's risky tackles can lead to a card hazard and LAFC is great at drawing red cards. Williams is about 10 steps too slow. So I'm not sure who you pair with Mensah. That worries me and I think we're going to give up a goal or two. Hopefully the attack continues to grow and we can match whatever the defense gives up. I'm going draw.
I voted with the heart today. I hope we can claim after the game that our team still has more goals this season than Vela. Win by 1.
So, we just have to stop Vela. That's all they've got! Oh, wait, the rest of their team without Vela has still outscored our entire team...damn.
Lots of groups were offered ticket deals for this match. How many actually show up in the crappy weather?
That's right! It is the Don Garble Cup between the Los Angeles Football Craft and the Columbus Screw!
Another historic moment for @LAFC.Welcome to MLS, Joao Moutinho! // #SuperDraft by @adidassoccer pic.twitter.com/gZNkvSzY1K— Major League Soccer (@MLS) January 19, 2018
