some pretty easy assumptions can be made by looking at the minutes played vs Tampa Bay

full 90 - Stuver, Jimenez, Barson, Francis, Saravia, Martinez, Larsen, Hollingsworth

    70 minutes - Parkhurst
45 minutes - Meram, Finlay, Trapp, Tchani
    20 minutes - Ashe

which will make our starting lineup tomorrow look something like this:

    Clark
    Afful Barson Parkhurst Ashe
    Finlay Trapp Tchani Cedrick
    Meram
    Kamara

bench - Stuver, Francis, Jimenez, Saravia, Hollingsworth, Larsen, Martinez

I'm really holding out hope that Ola and Cedrick can both play. I'm fairly confident about Ola for some reason, but less so about Cedrick. (Not that I have any clue about either.) Obviously if those two can't go, there's a significant chance of Larsen being in the starting lineup along with someone else from my bench list.

I want to know WTF is going on at practice for every 3rd player who is "injured" is getting "Concussion Symptoms".

Are they playing pointy-ball football at practice without pads and helmet???

I think the NFL/rugby arguments have been claiming that no pads or helmets would actually lead to fewer concussions.

I definitely wouldn't pick Ola, all we need is for him to tear that sucker and we're done. Wouldn't use Cedrick unless he's fully recovered because being sick on a hot summer's day is miserable. I'd put Martinez on the left because he's not a vertical guy and likes to come inside, this way Waylon can overlap. I'd start Larsen behind Meram with Finlay in the right and Trapp and Tchani (fingers crossed he can go another 45-60, we have to start getting him out there at some point). Back four Harry in for Hector. Hollingsworth as a sub on the left if nec. No real options up top apart from moving Finlay up and sliding someone else over to the right if we need to do that.

Amazingly this is the final time we play the Impact this season. As one of the teams we are chasing it would be nice to get a win as this is a potential six pointer here. At some point it isn't early in the season anymore.

No Piatti for the Impact. That's huge. The probable return of midfield boss Tony Tchani, also huge. Columbus wearing embarrassing jerseys, also huge and possibly too much to overcome.

I'm going out on a limb and saying Tchani's return and the absence of Piatti shifts this game in our favor. Crew wins 4-3. Just enough goals to placate the we are fine without Kei crowd. Just enough of a shitshow in defense to have continued animosity and disagreement between supporters on this very message board.

    Glory to Columbus.

it is big that piatti's out. We've never managed to deal with him, even in the playoffs here last year it was only because he kept blasting it over the bar that he didn't have a bigger, uh, impact.

There isn't a result available in this game that would affect that change.

BTW... I'm going to be stuck working, so I've got a ticket available in section 124 if anyone's interested. Not looking for money, just don't want it to go to waste.
