He's like 6'3'' or 6'4'' and 200 lbs. From what limited college highlights I saw, he looks like he's not scared to use his feet and physicality, not necessarily a header only target forward like Jahn. Hold on.... Highlights at 0:55
Yeah, I think that's a good comparison. I think (based on highlights) he's a small player in a big player's body, like Dirk Nowitzki or Kevin Durant in the NBA.
Looks like one of LAFC's goals was an own goal. Keep building. 💪#LAFC pic.twitter.com/SxCNeO7Y4K— LAFC (@LAFC) February 5, 2019
A 3-6-1? Like Steve Sampson's 1998 WC squad? Just kidding; I'm assuming it's a 3-4-3; one of our plethora of CB's playing as an outside defender? Wingers I'm assuming are playing more forward.
Wish I could have watched this game. JJ Williams seems like he might be one of those few guys to come out of the draft, that make taking the draft seriously, worthwhile. Buts it's still early on so well see. As far the formation goes....remember, Porter said he wasnt reinventing the wheel, K? I think these are both still 4-2-3-1s. ---------------------Mullins---------------------- Robinho--------Higuain----------Santos ----------Artur-------------Clark--------------- Jimenez----Sauro----Mensah----Afful --------------------Bendik------------------------ and ---------------------Williams-------------------- Meram----------Higuain-----------Santos -------------Artur---------Argudo------------- Jimenez--Abubakar--Mensah--Afful ----------------------Kempin-------------------- From what I can tell from what little detailed info there is on these preseason games so far....it seems like Argudo is being used as a CM/8 I'm guessing?
I think that might be the best position for him. In his action last year, I didn't feel he had the speed or attacking skills for a winger position or CAM. But I do see some possession/steady D skills that he can be useful in the middle of the field, distributing that first pass after gaining possession by being in the right spot stopping an attack. I gotta say, with all the information from this closed door scrimmage, it only amps my curiosity on who scored vs Tijuana. My current theory is it was an own goal.
Nope. Jimenez at LB. Honestly, do not listen to what those graphics say: 4231. Plus, Hector has been playing primarily as a defender for years now. 1st half: Bendik; Afful, Mensah, Sauro, Jimenez; Clark, Artur; Robinho, Pipa, Santos; Mullins. 2nd half, same shape: Kempin for Bendik. Abubakar for Sauro. Argudo for Clark Meram for Robinho JJ Williams for Mullins. Any injury updates on Josh Williams, Sosa, & Hansen? Steffen, Trapp, & Zardes should be back. 2-1-0 (WDL) without those six and a new coach. I will take it.
Eh--preseason. Looks good--but the year the Browns went winless in the regular season they'd gone undefeated in preseason. So I take it with a grain of salt.
