Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Breckenridge Brewery Vanilla Porter are both on sale at Kroger - mix them together in the same frosty mug for some high ABV goodness.
That's wackadoodle. I think my original source was an official Twitter account some weeks back. I figured there was something else going on in/around the stadium to make the kickoff the special time. It's good news for me since I'm tied up until about 8:30ish ET. It would have been tight if the pregame was starting at 9ET/6PT.
Wait...... Am I the only one who didn't know that Dwight and Neil do the Crew broadcasts from the Fox Studio in Cleveland?
Wait... Cleveland? No, I didn't know that. I can see, at least for the time being, why that might be a thing, just because of the new TV deal. I mean, Fox Sports Ohio is headquartered in Cleveland, so it stands to reason that they have studios there that are set up for this kind of thing. It's cheaper to cover Neil and Dwight's mileage reimbursement than pay for studio time in Columbus. Still, longer-term, I'd not only like to think we have the capacity to run this kind of thing out of Columbus, but as I've whined about before, I pray we send our broadcast crew to away games, rather than have them sit in a studio somewhere in Ohio.
Just wait.... Dwight and Neil will be sent up to Cleveland to do the Crew @ Chintzy FC game broadcast in August.
Quite correct on the mote part. "The Mote in God's Eye" is a pretty good sci-fi novel. Larry Niven. Nominated for Hugo & Nebula awards in 1975. He did a follow up much later. Alien first contact book.
Perfect. Announcers lavishly embracing the Ohio rivalry. While speaking nothing of how close it came to be scrubbed out of existence.
Please. Our announcers and journalists always hold MLS HQ and Garber to the highest standards. I almost typed that with a straight face.
Mensah training. Trapp biking. Josh sidelined. Waylon jogging. Jonathan Mensah is back in #Crew96 training from the start today. Wil Trapp is on the stationary bike after coming out at halftime of the #RBNY game. I’m told he’s dealing with a minor knee injury. Josh Williams is also on the sideline but is in cleats.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) July 31, 2019
I'm still a bit annoyed that we never really got a decent report about what happened to Mensah. We know he was injured while on international duty at the African Cup of Nations. He didn't play in the Ghanian team's last game (a loss). He came here and was listed as out ("Right Knee Injury"), then moved to questionable for many games but never making the 18, so clearly not ready to go. Is it a sprain? Something with the ACL?
They've always done away games in studio rather than on site (at least when we were on Spectrum), and I knew they were still doing away games from the studio, but I didn't that was occurring in Cleveland. Also, they don't do the home games up there in a studio...I'm assuming...
This sort of thing drives me nuts. I mean, on the one hand, there's nothing we can do about it. But on the other, it's so effing obvious a topic to cover if you're a media type who covers the club.
In 100 years when archeologists discover my Fire Porter mural, complete with selected posts from the thread written with the blood of my frenemies, and in hieroglyphics, I will again be revered as a prophet, as sage, and an artist for all generations.
just make sure you provide a full lexicon and alphabet, they might mistranslate your mural and claim you were his biggest supporter.
The last time Fox Sports Ohio had the contract, the away games were done from the regional Fox Sports studio in Cleveland. Not sure where the TWC/Spectrum studio was/is.
I’m too lazy (and tired) to look it up, but it was posted somewhere on here that Mensah got hurt in training here, after he got back from the African Cup of Nations. Certainly something a journalist with a little motivation could easily clarify.
No, he was hurt while with his national team: https://ghanasoccernet.com/2019-afr...hana-defender-jonathan-mensah-misses-training Being that I went to happy hour after work, came home and ate a frozen pizza all by myself, then watched a few hours of TV, I'm reasonably sure that finding this information didn't even require 'a little motivation.' The slightest bit of competence, maybe. But absolutely zero motivation.
