I just don't know what to post...I have never been as exacerbated by this side as i am now. I was passionate about saving them, but PSV deserve this lot.
Not sure it would help. When Santos is looking like the MVP of this team then how far have they fallen? Glad to see he is starting to earn his pay but...
I realized partway through the second half that I hadn't noticed a thing he said for at least five minutes. It was like my brain saying "no, that's just pointless noise, ignore it". Kind of like CNN in an airport departure lounge. It's sad, really. For years I bragged on Dwight Burgess and how much better he was than any of the other team's cockwaffle announcers but he's become utterly boring to listen to. Maybe he's just given up. But Sika solo - Jeezus on a raft, that was just unlistenable. Can't we get Dante or the Kiwi to work the booth? Everybody loves them both, they have actual insights and genuine personal knowledge and they don't dress like they're on the way to their 8th grade graduation ceremony.
I'm just sad because it's highly likely that that stinker of a game was probably Steffen's last in a Crew shirt.
Yep. I think we are starting to see how good a coach 3G was. Though losing Valenzuela & Afful did Porter no favors. Neither does an older Pipa. We are the worst team in the league at present.
If I remember the tentative US schedule correctly, camp is supposed to open tomorrow, there's a June 5 game v. Jamaica, and the final roster is to be announced June 6. Steffen is a known quantity...I wonder if Berhalter would do the Crew and Steffen a solid and let him arrive on June 2. Edit: Berhalter doesn't owe anybody anything, obviously, but it would be nice (selfishly!) to give Steffen one more game in Columbus.
Goff says MLS players will be able to stay with their clubs through this coming weekend: https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...ica-friendly-gold-cup/?utm_term=.8bbfbc0489c9
Thank you for the link and the information (which I obviously missed). Steffen isn't the longest-tenured Crew player, but it will be nice to see him play in person one last time.
Assuming he plays this weekend, applause in the 23rd minute (for his number) or in the 76th minute (for the number of games he played with us)?
I will say one thing about this game. As upset as I was with the result, I was entertained. It was a fun, though frustrating, game to watch, There were some nice goals in that game, both sides. On the last one? Sometimes the other guy (even if he plays on a bad team) is good. Santos' goal was similar.
Could be worse... Toronto just lost at home to the freakin’ Quakes. The East really isn’t good this year.
I watched this game with my mom at her place. She mainly talks through the game with me, but will occasionally look up at and ask questions. She said "well, at least Columbus played closely with them the whole time, and they didn't get beat by a lot". I then had to say "Well, Colorado is the worse team in the league". She replied "Oh, well, then nevermind, that isn't good". I say that "that isn't good" is a fair description of our play thus far this season.
Holy shit. They just let anyone post anything here don't they. The Quakes are ahead of us on points 17 to 16. They have played 2 less games. They have 20 goals to our 14. A minus 4 goal differential to our minus 8. We lost to a team that sits 9 points behind them in the standings and had only one win coming into the weekend. You dummy.
I'm pretty sure my mom hates crowds of people, and a crowd to her is more than 4 people. Going to any sporting event would be pure hell for her.
I brought my mother to the stadium five times while she was alive. A women’s game, the first time they came here after the win in 1999. 5-0 win. The first two Mexico games. The game where Robert Warzycha scored the first golden goal in MLS History. And the game where Buddle scored four. Never put this much thought into it, but apparently I should have brought her more often.
