3 at over 200K but one partially paid by Dallas (Vanney), and of course we pay part of Mathis' over 200K.
    4 more at over 150K
    3 more at over 100K

    Overpaid:
    Kirovski
Cancela, at least until he shows something for the first team
    Casey, ditto

    Underpaid:
    Bouna
    Herculez
    Ugo

I'm surprised at how close we are to the rumored cap of 2.3 million or so.

Completely agree. I hate seeing salaries of players over that ride the pine that end up being 3 times the salaries of some of our most productive players. Not that I'm arguing for a raise for Gomez or Ugo, but if Casey and Cancela contribute at this same level all year, then they are huge busts.

It came out as part of the leaked info in the trade deal to RBNY. Doing the math its less than 100K (probably 80-90K based on various quotes).

I had read that information as RSL was still keeping their share.

    What's the salary max?

I'm fairly certain we could put together a title contender based solely on players ranging from 80 - 150k.

Performance based pay, for example divide Jovan's in thirds, he keeps a third, Ugo and Bouna each get a third. Just made twice as many people happy as they p!ssed off. ;>)

Ives reported specifically that the Rapids agreed to pick up a part of Mathis' salary. He may have been wrong, but tehre was a report out there that the Rapids were paying part of it.

Things look pretty correct to me ...

Bouna is in line for a big raise if he can perform this season. I know many of you think he's underpaid - but he's yet to prove himself. Think of it as his entry level pay in the real world.

Kyle will probably see a raise soon.

Herc & Ugo will be looking for one too!

Jovan is the money to be shed to give all these people the raises they'll demand next season. And boy oh boy - I love Vanney - but that's a big chunk of the cap.

Wingert isn't earning his salary & so far neither is Cancela.

I feel for the rookies at $12,900. Can you even buy a year's worth of groceries and beer for that, let alone pay rent? Anybody noticed some young Rapids sleeping on park benches in Commerce City? I hope Jovan is taking them all out to dinner every week.

Kyle got a raise. Last year he was: $75,000 $78,750

Jovan somehow got a $50,000 raise. That must have already been in his contract because it can't be based on performance. He was at $150,000 $150,000 in 2006.

Peterson got a decent raise from $45,000 $63,750 in 2006.

Cookie got a significant raise from $95,000 $102,500 in 2006.

Conor Casey was my biggest surprise at $180,000 $180,000. Hopefully he can earn it.

I think KSE provided their housing. Plus they get appearance fees and lots of them having coaching gigs on the side since they only have a 4 hour work day.

Does any of that count toward CO's cap?

    What about RSL?

There is some assistance to the players, but it depends on where they stay.
They do not get free housing.

I have not been a big fan of Kirovski--but that is changing. very smart offensively, if not speedy.

    Connor Casey $180,000?

No speed, no touch yet. uhg.

... if you're using the loosest possible definition of "smart".

He spent the first half receiving the ball, looking up, seeing wide-open space for 20 yards in front of him, and then passing the ball through that open space to the other team.

The guy's an oxygen thief in the midfield.

I might be the only wrong person in the planet, but I think that Jovan is not a bad player at all. He is very fast and talented. He brings hot pepper to each game he plays. I think he is underrated.
