efer - si, yo se - but I thought it might be of general interest as it was his first start, and FCD has 25% of the colombianos in MLS this year. :D

Dallas Cup starts 4/16-17 (three more weeks) yes, hope to see you there.

Tons of colombians in the ny vs Philly game tonight.

Agudelo - hit two posts and was a constant threat
Mondragon - looks like a real leader for the young Philly team
Valdez - either he is amazing or Henry is a shadow of himself...more likely something in between
Torres- scored w first touch of the game. Very tidy on the ball

FPC has devolped a reputation that they are making late payments to our Players, and sometimes aren't fully payed.

MLS gives all sorts of benefits, so why not if the offer is on the table.

Yea true our league is a disgrace to be honest, more then half of the teams can't pay their players or they just don't want pay them... really, really sad.

I hope the MLS level surpasses the Mexi league soon, witch i honestly think is way overrated.

In the past the MLS was a place for "old" players who are close to their retirement, now we have many young players who go their like Montero, Valdes and now Chara. Also foreigns from other latin american leagues who play there because of the reason that Tio mentioned.

Yup! I've been thinking this for years going to MLS games. While the league can't afford to pay "european" salaries for players on a routine basis, its wages are certainly comparable with those paid out in most South American countries and if you weight wages by the probability that you'll actually get paid them its likely a better deal for a lot of players.

Montero opened the door for Colombians to come directly a few years back, and I'd imagine its only a matter of time before neighbor countries start exporting to the US the same way. The nice upshot of this is that the league gets better because talent improves as this happens too.

Chara is a great pick up for them and one of the best players in our league and 2 million for Tolima is impossible to say no to.

Only Con is his NT hopes are up by going to the MLS. Him not going to europe to me is not really a con because he is too short to go and regardless if he stay'd in Colombia his best shot was Argentina or Mexico.

    Pros
    -Gets paid on time
    - Won't get monkey chants like he would in Mexico or Argentina which is possibly the only place he would go abroad.
    - MLS is boring as shit to watch but does have some very good players and every year gets way way better

I hope he comes to NY

    He's going to Kansas City.

I would have liked for him to have gone to a team with other Colombians, but oh well. In a year or so every MLS match will feature at least 1 Colombian.

ew Kansas...... Wizards = gayest name in the MLS. They should have been the Supermen or something. I think they changed their name to sporting Kansas tho still kind of lame.

I would have preferred he went to a good team but the MLS spending like they are is pretty cool and they are starting to spend smarter.

Sporting KC IMO is one of the better teams in the MLS. Chara will make them even better. We'll see.

Hes going to Portland Timbers. They need the help, not a very good team so far. Portland is playing at home this Thursday on ESPN2 vs Chicago. It will be there first home game and as I understand it have a very good and loyal following, sure to provide a good atmosphere.

Yes, it does appear to be Portland which has a Colombian, ex-teammate of Chara, Jorge Perlaza. He should be fun to watch in MLS.

Video of Oscar Pareja talking about the welcome the Colombian community in Dallas is giving to all the Colombians who play for FC Dallas. This was shot during a welcome party the Colombian community threw for Fabian Castillo. The video shows all four of the Colombians at the event. David Ferriera looks very relaxed and content.
