Indeed and they even let him take a pen and he didn't poop himself like at the all star game. Progress!

I think he would have to go to a bigger league before he gets called.

Atuesta the orchestrator behind both gols, and Chicho Arango the scorer of both.

Unfortunately, Atuesta is hurt exactly in the window where he might be able to solidify his merits for a Nov call up with Quintero back in China...

    for how long?

actually atuesta would be a reinforce in the first line...with barrios.....for me more than the lack of 10 is lack of an 8 that coneect with offensive........with cuellar entry agaisnt ecuador the team started to played better, and we have the most arrivals in a short time.....

Cantillo could be pivotal in this.

Uribe doesnt create...he knows to attack but not with others.

I think of him more as a regista deep lying creator in the first line... But agree with your sentiment.

Ideally with our wingers, a destroyer in Barrios AND Rueda's obsession with 4-4-2 it would be ideal to have someone next to Barrios that can play and make others play...

Dairon Asprilla just scored an absolutely ridiculous goal for the Timbers. A bicycle from outside the box...

Ferreira played for the USA tonight off the bench in the big win over Mexico Dos A Cero in WCQ.

Involved in the second goal. Could have scored at the end but missed wide.

He looked pretty comfortable too. Good for him, shame he missed would have been quite the debut.

He never would have seen the field for Colombia, I have no beef with him.

Can be a good role player off the bench. I want to see more of him.

Yup, USA really wanted him too and he is a Dallas kid who grew up with a bunch of guys trying to make the World Cup squad from the academy.
I don't think he would have chosen Colombia even if they wanted him quite frankly, but you are right he never would have had a chance anyway.

Thiago Almada's move to ATL United was confirmed today from Velez. They are spending $16M.

Didn't realize that Almada is himself under investigation for sexual assault. Apparently, Velez have announced the sale but ATL has not confirmed.

If through it would set two crazy precedents - the highest amount paid for an MLS transfer and an MLS team oking the signing of a player with an active case like this. I suppose this might shed light on why Almada would consider MLS at all - might not have many suitors given his situation.

This isn't Colombian direct related but I thought I'd share given the MLS market become more relevant as a destination for our players in recent years.

In lamer news the highly Colombian Timbers lost at home in the final of the MLS Cup in penalties to NYC FC.

The Chara brothers and Dairon started with Santi Moreno coming on in the second half. Was pretty clear Moreno should have started as he was extremely active and pushed the team. He scored his penalty after the Timbers veterans Mora and Valeri both had theirs saved and we the only Colombian to take a pen.

It was a surprisingly nice city to visit. Their food stands especially caught my eye. Plus the fans were great despite the normal competitiveness; they congratulated us as we left the stadium and we naturally embraced one another out of respect.

I am envious of their passion for the sport. Great environment that is needed more across the USA.

Awesome. I've been lucky to spend a lot of time there. Love it and yes, amazing soccer fan culture there.
