Valoyes was a sub today (I think given their league placement Talleres is resting him for the Sudamericana)

Tbh I haven’t heard any talk of him coming to River, but I did hear the other day that he wasn’t going to continue in Talleres next season regardless, so maybe his agent offered him to us and Gallardo is keeping him in mind as an option?

I think his possible arrival would have a lot to do with two factors: the first being what happens with Borre. Everyone has been expecting him to sign with another club in June, but so far he hasn’t reached an agreement with anyone and even turned down Gremio and Palmeiras’s incredible offers, so who knows... maybe he’ll continue with us during the second half of the year.

The second factor is what happens with Driussi: River tried to sign him back in January and pretty much reached an agreement, but one of Zenit’s forwards got injured so he ended up staying in Russia. Seba said on a livestream recently that he’ll return in June, although nothing is formally set on paper. At the very least, River is expected to make another attempt.

So we’ll possibly have Borre and Driussi, and there’s also Matias Suarez, Julian Alvarez, Federico Girotti, and Lucas Beltran up front..... plus Fontana, who I think is a disaster, but he won’t be going anywhere since we barely signed him 4 months ago, and a bunch of youth prospects (Rollheiser, Londoño, etc)

I don’t know if there’s any room (or money) for Valoyes... it will really come down to what happens with other players during the transfer window, if the interest is even real to begin with

Valoyes with a handful of highlights skinning defenders and a hockey assist in Talleres loss to Newell's.

They were actually up 2-0 before collapsing defensively in the second half.

Super physical game and Talleres struggled to maintain possession playing from the back. Valoyes is key to their play on the counter with pace and some nice early balls from the wing too (which I hadn't seen from him before and one set up a goal).

As I watched the game I felt Goez grow into the rhythm of play much more AFTER Colon went down to 10 men. His confidence seemed to really perk up after his goal too.

What's the story with him? Seemed very promising as a potential possession midfielder (not particularly fast, but quick thinking, good lungs and clearly not awed by opposition).

Not here to answer your question but after looking at some highlights of the kid I have to say I like his style. Some of his moves remind me of the way Cuadrado played 8 under Queiroz.
I am not going to go overboard and say he can be a starting player for us but if he consistently plays liked he did this weekend maybe Rueda can keep an eye on him for the future.

Goez never got any proper shot at Nacional. He was pretty solid for Colombia's sub 20 in 2019, but unfortunately he got injured before the WC.

He was pretty good for Colon in the few starts he had post-COVID. He came in for an injured player and just ran with it. I was surprised he was primarily a bench option last semester after his promising start.

That lack of speed probably has something to do why he hasn't gotten much play in the early parts in his career. I think he just needs to get better and handling quick pressing--the most essential skill a CM needs.

Goez got subbed yesterday after a mistake in midfield that resulted in an opposition goal.

Read some mixed comments, but didn't have a chance to watch the game yet as I've been watching Olympics in free moments...

    Nice header.

Wish we had someone who could consistently take corners like that other than James or JuanFEr.
