Jeez. If this kid can mentally handle the pressure of the NT he could be really useful. You rarely see people keep their head like that in the box...
Watched the extended highlights of Valoyes match from midweek - a) he has great pace on and off the ball b) Talleres are a fun squad to watch with huge volume of offense getting into their opponents box so he has a lot of touches. Exciting kid!
Londoño Bedoya was included in River’s roster for the Libertadores! Thomas Gutierrez was also rumored to have a chance, but in the end was left out.
Dunno, but Londoño is a great name for the NT. Just hope he can ball. Update after cursory Google search: 1. He is twenty turning 21 in three months. 2. His first name is Flabian. This kid is destined for our NT with that name!
Lol wth do you expect him to be the top scorer of Primera already? He’s doing good, but River is stacked with forwards (Borre, Suarez, Girotti, Beltran, Fontana) + Pratto (who just left on loan, but will return in June), and until recently we also had Scocco. It’s normal that he hasn’t broken into the first team yet with so many players in his position, even moreso with Gallardo who doesn’t like to rush his youngsters.
Direct analog here would be that Juan Pablo Angel first arrived at River at 22. Duvan went to Estudiantes at 20. Not too late for this kid to have an impact for sure...
Seems like he would have pace for it, but the games I've seen he's been a second striker. Needs to score more from that role (esp given he plays in a pretty aggressive side), but his game is attractive.
He's a Winger. While he played in Colombia he was used mainly on the right. It seems he's still playing there in Talleres.
Interesting - did he play more deep in Colombia? I always see him on edge of box for Talleres and think of him more as a true 7. But looking at their formations he moves all over the line of three behind their 9. https://www.facebook.com/35367855525/posts/10164950652570526/
He always played wide right for Equidad, and other than his second season where they had him on the left, Talleres has him at the right wing, too. They do have him shading the area a bit more recently, but that's not usually where he lines up and receives most balls.
That's so helpful, thanks! Helps me feel a lot better about the goal tally. I've only just started watching more than highlights of the kid when Paramount signed the Argentine league. Ps. Where did you find the heat map? So cool.
Sudamericana on Wednesday. It's a big match after they dropped points the other day. Meanwhile, their opponents will be Tolima, who've played their starters 3 times in one week...
Carbonero seems to me to be a guy Rueda would like to put on the wing in his scheme like Marlos. Goal was kind of a fortuitous bounce, but I'll take it.
