it is actually an advantag in soccer to be a shorter player. Soccer is a sport that requires alot of agility. Center of gravity is much better on a shorter player than on a bigger player. JUNIOR TU PAPA

I agree. Que quede claro que mido 1:86 y no pido una oportunidad para Chitiva porque yo sea bajo de estatura, es sólo una muestra de justicia para quien ha hecho méritos para ser probado como parte de una selección nacional.

How many goals did colombia score by heads think all of them were by Yepes or Angel. No mid fielder scored a header why because thats not thier jobs they have to give it to angel to score. And chivita takes great free kicks!!!!! which colombia needs, we have no free kick taker, we always have to pass the ball or lob it. We never jsut go straight for goal.

Lo que queda claro es que una abrumadora mayoría acá considera justo que se le dé una oportunidad en la Selección a Chitiva (o Chivita como le dice crzdcolombian). El argumento de quien considera injusto un llamado: la estatura. Los argumentos de quienes pedimos una opción para él: su momento futbolístico, sus buenas campañas en Pachuca, su habilidad, su velocidad, su capacidad para ejecutar con potencia y ubicación los tiros libres, su experiencia enfrentando a defensores corpulentos y altos, su regate contra adversarios lentos. Pongan en la balanza.
Diego, I agree. Chitiva proved that he can deserve at least a chance in the yellow jersey of Colombia, and it's really doesn't matter what's his height or weight. as long as he plays good, he should be in the NT. and if we already talking about Pachuca, it will be a crime not to call Aquivaldo Mosquera. when he played in Nacional he was great but he got even more better in Pachuca and the fact is that this great defender nominated for the defender of the year in America. so before everyone jumping to invite IRC and Yepes, this guy have to be called, for the first time, at list like Chitiva to get the chance in the NT that he deserve. I really like this player, I think Mosquera and Perea are two center backs who built the same, talls, strong and it'll make our defense even more stronger. of course I'm not cancelling the participating of Yepes from PSG and Cordoba from Inter, but I personally would go at least in the Copa, on the formation of Perea & Mosquera.
Yea Mosquera is a crime not to be on the team. Cordoba, Yepes and Perea are all playing badly, either injured or not a solid starter. Mosquera has been a brick wall for his team and deserves a call up. We dont have to worry tho because Pinto isnt calling up any european players so WHO CAN TAKE MOSQUERA'S SPOT !!! please not mendoza he sucks. I mean how can Orozco have been called up like 10x but Mosquera 0? As for Chitiva, I see him and Calero being called up, hate calero but he is the champion of SA... so might as well call him. The only thing is Pinto said he will only call up south american based players.... hopefully he also means mexico so that we can see these two guys in action.

The only starter in Europe is Cristian Zapata. As for Perea I dont no if he came back from injury but I remember he was injured for a little bit didnt play agaisnt barca.
Perea is quickly developing the reputation as one of the best centrebacks in Spain. When healthy he is an undisputed starter at Atl Madrid.
Colombia Copa America team I'm starting this thread so we can discuss who we think should be in the Selección for the Venezuela 2007 Copa America. 22 players go to La Copa, and in peru 2004 we took 2 goalies, 7 defenders, 8 mids and 5 forwards. Pinto Said the team will be our qualifier team, so think of the best players in colombia and make a list of 22 potential players. The complete Colombia team in 2004 To avoid problems, lets just say we will take the same number of players for each position, who should they be? Pinto lo unico que no tiene claro son los volantes de contencion y los laterales. Parece ser que en el medio Vargas es fijo y el otro que ha cogido mucha fuerza ahora es Viafara sobretodo por la estatura, porque Pinto dice que necesita estatura. Atras estan como laterales derechos Palacio y se le esta haciendo seguimiento a Vallejo del tolima aun cuando no esta jugando de titular, el otro es Anchico. Y por la izquierda estan Benitez, Velez y Casierra y estan buscando mas. Definitivamente no va a jugar con tres centrales ni va a inventar poniendo uno de los 6 excelentes centrales que tenemos como laterales.
