Mier had a solid month of match fitness in him. I didn’t watch any of the games but I don’t think he takes Ospina’s 3rd spot. Next cycle - I think he’s worth a better look in no pressure games as we rebuild towards 2028 copa America.

it would be nice if next cycle guys like Castillo in Portugal and Devis in Besiktas get their situation improved so we have options with experience outside of Central/South America

He is different on the NT. Made several big time mistakes (penalties, not protecting his post on corners) that he just doesn't do at Palace. Just playing undisciplined and out of control.

If he gets himself in control and plays like he did in the early rounds of the last CA it would be awesome.

Rodallega was like he got robbed of a WC Spot in 2014.

I mean I don't think he was better than Jackson, Bacca, Teo or Adrian Ramos. That is 4 strikers. Ramos had 14 goals in Germany that season.

Questionable players Carbonero(MF) and Ibarbo(more of a backup for Cuadrado or James and a player for the future).

in Hindsight taking Roda(6 goals in the EPL that season with Fulham) over Ibarbo(4 goals in Italy) was a better choice but not like either would play. Macnelly not being taken for Carbonero was shocking but again. Pekerman picked Quintero who was and is better than Macnelly ever was.

    2018
Bacca, Falcao, Muriel (weak year in 2018 but better player) and Borja.

Izquerido was called as a LW.... was a godlike player in Belgium but think he was injured a lot in England and didn't do much and retired early like Sinisterria should do.

so again... outside of Borja who is a very different type of player(had 20 goals in Brazil that season).... I don't think Roda(13 goals that season in turkey) is better than the other 3.

Roda was better than Teo in 2014, everyone else probably not, but the margin of difference wasn't also that wide.

Teo to me was a false #9 and a starter

I don’t think he was better than teo or did what teo did on the field. Guess the coach probably thinks Borre fills that role but Borre sucks at everything

Rodallega should not have been on the World Cup squad in my humble opinion.

That said, I think he was kinda screwed by Pekerman. Not one time did he ever call him up which was always strange to me.
I will always believe that he should have been called up instead of Dayro in 2016 for the Copa Centenario. Dayro was useless in that tournament. Rodallega could have played 9. Falcao was MIA. Bacca was inconsistent and may not have been healthy. We had to start a young Roger Martinez against Chile.
I believe Rodagol would have been more useful.

I think Bacca was injured going into the 14 World Cup bc he only featured in the final game against Brazil…

I think he's an investor for San Diego's women's club SD Wave. He especially loves the sport.
