We have seen it often this cycle. Players who are on the prelist that local media and managers thinks will be called up only to not be called up. Off the top of my head it happened with Duvan in Italy, Monsalve in Brasil, Villa in Argentina, Camilo Duran a Qarabaq, etc.

I am PRETTY SURE this guy at some point said he was not interested in Colombia and only wanted to play for Italy

Well it did work in his favor so far; assuming that he still makes it to the world cup in the final list.

 

the U20 coach said he wasn't colombian and then he was not good enough for the SNT at any point of his career. Nor Italy but at this point it is probably easier to make Italy than the colombian team. Italy fking sucks

but yeah, call me a positive person, but I think we will have a good tournament

It depends, if you have high standards and want something new, you'll be disappointed (me)

Otherwise yeah we'll get through the groups maybe round of 16 and then probably lose to Spain or whatever we run into and that'll be that

 

To be fair most teams in the tournament are saying something like this.
Not too many teams at our level are expecting more than a Quarter -Final. Even less competing with Spain.

 

I was aiming for semi finals

Seems unlikely now

I would also like to run into the US or Mexico but I think thats unlikely
