Just got back from DC. Got to attend today in person and even met Falcao, JPA, Mondragón and Lorenzo. I teased Lorenzo about getting a new outfit for the event and told JPA whole story of how following him to Villa caused me to make friends all over the world (he kinda looked at me like I was crazy and just said thanks). Of course, none of my strategic ideas and insightful questions about the NT came to mind when around these people... Just thanked them for all the memories.
I dont think it'll happen at this point sadly but I would like to see the return of Sebastian Villa, we could use more options out wide right now and he was excellent for Rivadavia
Lorenzo interview from today. mentioned they'll practice in altitude in Colombia and also play a going away game (they're still looking for a rival for that game) before going to Mexico where they will have their headquarters. was also asked if players like Enamorado still had a chance to make the roster. he said they do, but then mentioned all the wingers he's competing against (mentioned all the ones that have been called up and also mentioned cetre, but not villa)

Edwin Cetré is another winger that could get called up but the problem is I think he's on the left. Carlos Gomez has been excellent in brazil on the right and he's not injury prone like that clown Sinisterra
Sinisterra's fault for being made out of glass. Just retire and get a nice office job where he's not exerting his fragile delicate little body

Southern Spain is basically genetically half Arabs, the architecture is Arab, names like Andaluz are derived from arabic. Being a Moroccan born and raised in Spain is intensely Spanish heritage.
So when I can't sleep instead of counting sheep, I just draw up my Colombia XI until I conk out. I do this most nights actually... Anyway, as of this Christmas eve, here is my dream XI (if all goes well and players were to find their form as I hope) with my subs in parentheses: ----------------------- Suarez------------------------- ------------------------(Duran)------------------------ Diaz -----------------James----------------Arias (Carrascal)-----(Quintero)----------(Asprilla) --------------Deossa-----------Rios-------------------- --------------(Portilla)-----(Castaño)--------------- Mojica----------Lucumi----Mina----------Munoz (Machado)-(Sanchez)-(Mosquera) - (S Arias) ---------------------------Vargas---------------------------- -------------------------(Montero)------------------------- Other subs: Lerma, J Cordoba, Hernandez, Carbonero, Sinisterra, Hinestroza Things that need to happen: 1) Deossa continues to win regular minutes at Betis, plays well in Friendlies 2) J Arias finds form for Wolves or moves on loan in Jan 3) Duran settles at Fenerbache, scores enough worldies while managing cards to re-earn trust 4) James finds a home in Jan and arrives healthy for WC, does his now customary routine of training separately for WC in run up. If this team were fit and in full form, I think we can beat any country in the world if we impose our style.
I think this is our best lineup based on everything right now. James continues to cheat on the right when we are defending and Arias drops in, those 2 interchange as needed, Rios doesn't have as much license to get forward but that's ok considering Munoz is given alot of leeway and Deossa makes lots of runs out of midfield, so although we lose some of Rios dynamism we gain alot more since he's unpressable on his day. Mojica is really the only weak spot on the ball, and defensively this is still a very strong lineup.
If I were to think about the NT at night, I wouldn't sleep at all... Sometimes I zone out counting backwards from 100, but most of the time I put some NatGeo on TV...
