This lightbulb just came to me right now.

Out of all the attackers from the Sub20 2019 team if you would have told me that the player with the best shot at making the WC roster is Carbonero…

…I would have said you were absolutely crazy.

He was very speedy back then but that is about it.
He has developed his game so much in Argentina and now in.Brasil he is at a new confidence level with his shooting and movement.

Sini and Cucho still have a chance, especially if rosters are expanded but they are behind Carbonero at the moment which is awesome but so baffling to me.

I think Puerta should overtake Castaño

even if he does he will still be 4th. Portilla is the odd man out. With how bad of form Castano is in he shouldn't have been called and Portilla got the minutes yesterday. Think a lot of the plan went to shit when we missed 8 sitters and the coach shit his pants. Carbonero saved him again...... but terrible game yesterday and vs Canada

We called Castano when he was in Russia and wasn't even always a nailed on starter and Lorenzo started him. I don't think he's fully looking at club form, because if he was Lerma would have been dropped a few months ago but still gets the nod.

I am hoping to see our actual team v. Australia.

The defense and goalie need more playing time together. imo

Montero better push to get a loan or transfer somewhere asap imo, wouldn't want to go into a World Cup with a goalie who has barely played in year and our other options are not appealing.

Do we have any goalkeeper playing consistently? Ospina and the guy that's in Portugal right now are the only ones I can think of.

Vargas is too, idk none of those guys feel like the calibre we want and the guy in Portugal hasn't even been called yet. I really don't want Ospina/Vargas to need to be starting for us in the summer, so Montero getting playing time and proving his form would be ideal.

Sergio Romero made a career of playing more for argentija NT than he did at the club level - at least for a few years he did that lol

There were rumors that Montero may go to Junior this winter.
    Hopefully that happens.

Yeah and Ospina was a backup for a lot of time while he was our starter, but Montero also doesn't have the pedigree to fall back on as those guys, I'm sure he can do it if needed but ideally he's fully on game form playing every week to avoid the issue come the summer.

Lorenzo better call up another keeper or even two new ones in the March window.
Cannot rely on these three to be healthy and in form. Have to have some sort of backup plan.

I thought they said he going to Dept Cali

but yea come to the league and show he one of the best. If he garbage at Cali fine... that team is a dumpster fire but if he goes to one of the top 3 teams with one of the top rosters and most money (maybe outside of Nacional) and he still shit... or eats bench.... then wtf will he be on the NT

Better to strengthen our depth; we need options.

Could be a chance for something CrzD, Villus and others have been asking for….

    …. A 3 CB back line.

I love Santi but asking him to go 90 minutes in Florida and then Queens is a little too much to ask from him in my opinion.
