just sad facts are now political and places ban you for mentioning them

really feels like the new McCarthy era

Take all the false narrative CNN fake news to the cry baby politics thread.

This thread is about Colombian Futbol not political banter.

Getting Illegal migrants and criminals out of the country. Great video.

Just put it in the politics thread, not the Futbol thread. It is that simple.

    yea dude open your eyes...

as a person who family left europe because they were jewish.(even tho all blond green eyed) .... they come for you eventually. Even if you are rich. It's just a matter of time.

you can only be on the wrong side of history for so long.

This administration feels like I am living in the McCarthy era but worst because its not a congressman but the actual president who is said to have Hitlers book on his nightstand by an ex wife.

fine I have ex gfs who hate me but they are not going to go around saying I am a rapist or a nazi. That is just going to far

that thread is pointless and worthless just the mod posting memes. No actual discussion happens there.

its more than is Bernie/AOC going to make us Russia. Its hey these things are actually happening to people that looks like us or with names like ours.

OJ was still black even tho he was rich and only associated with white people.

    LOL
    Right.

You don't want to go there.

Look. I have seen the left and the right. I have family that are both left and right. These last few years have opened my eyes and many others to the truth.

When someone on the left of importance is killed there's riots on the streets, there's violence everywhere, there's people trying to tell you what to do and take away your freedoms. Crazy protests.

They tell you Put on a mask. Take a shot in the arm or lose your job. Senators and Congressmen kneel down in weird African garb to honor the criminal who beat up his wife and was a druggie.
The left are the real clown show.

When someone important on the right gets brutally murdered in front of the whole world...
...they go to church, have bake sales and tell people to come to Jesus and forgive those who persecute you.

You are the one who needs to open your eyes.

The reason why it is pointless is because it is fake news.

Discussing some boogeyman targeting people at a soccer match in Queens or South Florida is not really talking about National Team matches.
It is propagating a false narrative that it is risky to go to these matches as a Colombian or Colombian American.
I bet anyone here can go to the game at those stadiums and enjoy themselves as long as they are not breaking the law.
Just like any other person on this planet doing any other leisure activity.

We are talking about the Colombian national team, the team that represents the country of Colombia which is at the state level being denied Visas, that's relevant to this game and questioning why our stupid ass federation insists on still playing neutral games putting our own team at risk let alone fans of Colombian nationals. But I suppose the urge to boot lick is too strong for some.

Doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with Petro's actions, they are revoking the visa of the president of the country which is a big deal historically, obviously this just happened but risking putting fans or the team in the middle of that spat is kind of crazy for me and that doesn't really have anything to do with one's political views.

I don't disagree that it has happened but it isn't as common as you think. I've had relatives and friends (Colombian and non-Colombian foreigners) who have not dealt with ICE in the last few months despite visiting the US or living on a visa.

And yes even in red states. I do think it's terrible how there are those who are being harassed but it's thankfully not as everywhere towards everyone thing.

My cousin's parents got visas approved this year (yes they are Colombian) and they're considering returning to Colombia not because of fear but thanks to a falling out with family (ugly details I won't get into).

My cousin himself recently progressed on his Visa himself but doesn't know if he's still gonna go due to the family issues i mentioned should he finished his progessing tho he is open to staying with me in San Diego depending on his plans.

Even here in Southern California like LA and San Diego while there has been reports, there was only one "personal" experience where my Mexican friend and his family were approached by ICE in his neighborhood and left alone after verifying their citizenship/visas.

There is certainly an issue with ICE but this isn't a universal problem for Colombians or non-Colombians to how the media makes it sound like. Doesn't trivialize what happens those who are legally allowed here have to deal with as there is corruption but it thankfully isn't as common.

Let's not pretend that the president of Colombia is popular/well universally liked; in fact I can't remember the last time any Colombian on this form or outside of it had anything nice to say.

Also this is the same guy who stupidly rejected our own people from coming back from the US just because he didn't like how Trump deported them???

Then again, I don't go out of my way to look into political discussions in this form or outside of it since it is oversaturated as it is especially in social media...

We still have many Colombians who live in the United States either permanently or with citizenship; yeah I am curious of when Colombians will visit next year for the world cup when that comes around but we certainly already have a presence here in the US.

It doesn't really matter if it isn't that bad or if people don't like Petro, if they aren't giving visas to diplomats and politicians and we know there is some degree of ICE presence and risk involved in the USA then for the Colombian national team it is irresponsible to court that risk for a few extra dollars for a friendly. At the end of the day we should be trying to play games in our country in front of our fans, that's a pretty standard reason to have a national team, to bring pride and joy to the country, and even though lots of Colombians are in the US at the end of the day there are millions in Colombia and its crazy to me that money is so important vs sporting and national pride. Now when you add in the added risks it's even more crazy to push for neutral games in the USA adding risk to the team, and to fans. The degree and who is right or wrong doesn't really factor into the reality that we are whoring ourselves out for dollars when we should be trying to play games in front of our fans in our country.

Yeah but the federation doesn't care what the people want.

They are corrupted and couldn't care less how football benefits the people especially when they had the ********ing to disregard our criticisms failing to qualify for 2022 and trivialize our regular frustrations.

There's no love or passion on their minds.

    Just pesos and pesos.

Hell I am waiting for the day Saudi Arabia wants a friendly with us in their stadium and our federation will jump at the chance just like any other organization has in recent years.
