Yeah, but his two young studs have tanked themselves the past few months in Duran and Yaser...

And you are right he NEEDS Munoz and Lucumi - but it's brutal. Those aren't tactical errors or formations or subs or whatever - just sheer acts of stupidity hurting the team from our stars.

He can't make them succeed, he just has to give the players the best platform to be successful. Yaser and Duran were very obvious guys to promote and call, Yaser has fallen off at Girona and Duran looks like a totally different player, that's not his or the processes fault. I'm more so talking about guys like Hinestroza, Campaz, Mier or even Rafael Carrascal. If you want to play these guys and use them now, why weren't you thinking ahead and getting them into more camps and getting them comfortable and ready to step up and play? Carrascal wasn't even in the original callus and was called a few days ago and played off the bench, that's not putting these guys into a position to succeed, young players need time to get comfortable and used to the team and players and work with the manager, and to me from the outside it all looks reactionary. It's hard for young players to succeed, but Mier not even getting called then thrown in when pressure is highest because he didn't think ahead is bad planning and management, and Rueda doing that led to us not qualifying. Hard to control the Munoz and Lucumi stupid mistakes, they're seasoned veterans and key players, but the other stuff he can control and he's not doing a great job.

I guess that will be another mystery that I forgot to bring up earlier. (Possibly cause there is basically a 50-50 chance at the answer.)
    Who will start for Munoz?

Will Santi be healthy? I do not trust Roman.

I'd rather play Lerma there than in cdm tbh. He's played there before and has been playing CB in a 3 alot this season so it would make sense.

I am embarrassed to ask this but on several box scores i see different names.

which Carrascal played yesterday? #8 is usually Jorge. But I’ve seen Rafael’s name too.
From what I saw it looked like Jorge was playing bc of that big set of hair he has…

futmob has Jorge, but espn has Rafael as #8

Ha Sofascore has Rafael and Fotmob Jorge, must have been Jorge I guess? I did a triple check on sofascore because it seemed wrong but didn't check other sources.

Unless Rafa also has the worst freaking neck tattoos then it was def Jorge looking useless and pulling a Leroy Jenkins going 1 on 5 late in the game wasting what could have been a good build up...

    Not a bad list.

He knows we play well in the USA. And he knows qualifying is different than the real tournament.

Any talks of friendlies for the year? We aren't due for our last set of qualifiers until September.

Yup. Assuming we do win against Bolivia (like seriously no more throwing away easy matches), Venezuela should at least not win against Argentina in their own yard. That will secure our qualification.

Does anyone else thinks Colombia should go through considering what games remain for our nearest rivals? Venezuela and Bolivia

Even if Venezuela ties Argentina they would still have to beat us by large amount of goals

We need to finish strong and build some confidence, 2 wins and good performances are needed. Then we have some time for the team to feel better about everything, we can finish higher up the standings with a better Fifa ranking for seeding and then we can play loose in friendlies leading into WC. We can turn it around but Lorenzo needs to up his tactics and the psychology and bad vibes of the team should follow, but this guy looks like he's waiting to face the firing line every time you see him on the sidelines.

This current team better than Rueda's?

Napoli Ospina > Mier > Vargas
    same CBs

pretty much only difference now is Rios and the strikers and coach.

both teams were pretty much... hey James or Diaz please do something magical.... and hope the goalie or Cbs do not have a brain fart

What an own goal of a post. This team scores goals and would be qualifying easily if not for brain farts by Lucumi and Munoz.

    Rueda's team simply couldn't score.

Lorenzo has underperformed the second round of qualifying but this isn't a serious comparison. Rueda was a total disaster.
