A B team could work with Maybe Arias or Rios as captains

Would Luis Perea or the other assistant coach be coaching the team? Please not the U20 coach that has 30% win rate in his 15 year coaching career haha

Idk America loves marketing and press work more than football so a tournament without name value would be bad for them. I think they'd almost rather cancel everything than not have something flash to yap about

USA does not organize the Copa Oro. It is organized by CONCACAF.

It will be like 2005 and before.

I expect the team we send will mostly consist of the same type of players who were called for the Non-FIFA friendlies. So Colombian League, MLS players getting priority. Then trying to convince some Latin American Leagues of players (Mex,Bra,Arg). And some Euro Club based that would throw us a bone cause it is the off-season.

Personally, I would just be happy if this tournament helps us get players integrated into the player pool that would not have been integrated before. We can find a gem or two in a competitive format like this that has some pressure but obviously not as pressure filled as qualifiers or main "A" team tournaments.
It also may help us get younger /inexperienced players to advance in the eyes of the coaching staff. Mier being a good example of a player who can open some eyes and maybe get a chance if he leads us on a deep run and looks sensational. (I mean, assuming he starts over Montero which is not a guarantee but we shall see. Maybe Montero has this chance too if he wins the job. )

Dani Muñoz says we aim to be a finalist for the next world cup

I appreciate the mentality but I don't think we have the balls to be in a final or even semi's

Almost makes us seem like mexicans

Too many variables to think about right now. Once the draw occurs and we know if we are a Seed or not then we may have a better idea if we have a chance.

As I said earlier though I think a Semi run like Morocco is possible. But I too think we need a change in mentality along with some on the field leaders to step up and take the game to our opponents.

same team with Yaser/Siniterria in the middle for James to finish off the game coming in minute 60.

    team would be insanely faster

hopefully Uribe, Quintero, Borre aren’t on the team by then plus better stronger bench

If this cup is more diverse and brings a good balance of heavy hitters this can used as a good tournament for added glory and preparing for the world cup in 2026.

Of course I don't know how each country will treat such a tournament and what they want to gain from it.

It will probably be B/C teams for all the invited teams that are not CONCACAF.

    ----------------Mier

    Santi---Llinas-----Ditta--Velasquez

    -----------Deossa--Portilla------------

    --------------MonSalve----------------

    -Enamorado---Cucho------Serna---------

We can win with that sorta lineup. Assuming the club teams would allow them to play which is not a guarantee for each case.

This tournament is not really for the future in my opnion.
It would be to fine tune things and see who can be on the 2026 roster.
Unfortunately Santi is the best we got to backup Muñoz. But maybe someone younger pops up between now and Summer 2025.

for this cup I think we would have to try someone else. Ultimately it should be someone taht can fit into that 1st team. Only way teams bring bigger names is if prize $$$ is huge. But euro clubs wont be too excited on sending their top players so they can risk injury.

They're never excited to send their players away as a whole no matter the occasion.

That's why I'm not a fan of nonfifa sanctioned tournaments. If it were up them we'd never get shit

The only other players who I think would get a chance would be JD Mosquera from MLS or maybe Ocampo. Neither of which are better options than Santi at the moment. But as I said, maybe things change in less than a year. I just doubt it.

It is being reported that Santos Borre is out for at least a month due to injury and will miss both WCQs During the September FIFA break.

Bad for him of course but could be a good opportunity for Duran, Cassierra and/or Borja.
