Pekerman’s decision to go with a triple 5 against a sorry ass limited England team in 2018 is something that will anger me until the day I die and even beyond then, I can see me at the gates of Heaven, God offering to answer any question regarding existence and the universe

    and I’ll say

    why God, why?

    El classico triple cinco!

(That said, as gross as it was and is, it somehow almost worked and we only lost to the British because Uribe's kill shot went off the bar)

I do wonder what would have happened if James wasn't injured...to this day I keep thinking: wow, we could have likely made the semis at least. Sweden wouldn't be as challenging as others would be, and Croatia was a maybe...after all, we did a 3-2 comeback against France in their own country just before the world cup so by then our mentality could have....maybe....?

nah didn't work, we were about to lose and then miraculously equalized in the last second only to choke in the PK's.

What does that have to do with anything? How does getting pks or not getting pks reflect anything on mentality?

You play a triple five because you want to go to pens. He got what he wanted, we were even ahead in the pens.... And then Uribe...

I'm not saying it's what I wanted him to do or what I think was best - but he wanted to park the bus and kick shins and hope for a tie in regular time and that's what he got.

It was also Uribe’s shot on goal that led to the corner that Mina scored.

I don’t understand the point you’re making. I do know that VaR has helped Colombia far more than hurt us.

A big problem we have is that We can’t even get inside the 18 to earn a penalty LOL

And it was a brilliant shot and I'm not blaming Uribe. He tried to end the shootout with the kill shot and I think he hits that 9/10.

Same thing happened to Kane this past world cup. It's just a shame.

As best I understand it your saying it was a lame strategy. That's not debatable. Lame and cowardly.

All I'm saying is that he still got the result he wanted in regular time out of it and got really close to pulling it off because I think 9/10 Uribe hits that kill shot (you don't take it otherwise).

None of us like it, almost won despite it. I wonder, if Uribe's shot goes in and we win, we would have all held our noses and celebrated right?

Hmm I don’t think we won with uribes pk

we were only up one. Bacca still had to score for us to win

but at worst we would have gone to extra pks

yep. Same as Morocco, Croatia who sat back and countered all tournament and still finished as a
part of the podium. What matters is the final result
