Oddly enough, the midfielder I see becoming the most well rounded is Andres Perea...who we just lost to USA. The kid is maturing very well.

That's actually such a young and tough midfield to break into right now with Tyler Adams, Mckinnie, Musah and Reyna all kids and ahead in pecking order too. It's the strength of the US team moving forward.

And Colombia needs depth at midfield. Shame.

All those guys you name like to go forward and push up a bit from what I have seen.
This Perea kid can stay home and play D a bit more instinctively.

Tyler has skill on the ball but he's a defensive midfielder at Leipzig and for the NT. McKinnie and Mussah more possession (but both can scrap) and yes, Reyna more of a pure 10. Maybe as a back up to Tyler, but I don't see Perea getting any time and Adams is only 22...

I can see both Adams and Perea out there at the same time eventually.
At least in friendly after the Octogonal or something.

Along these lines I heard a rumor that the training camp with domestic players will be mostly comprised of players who play at high altitude.

Now, I do not think he is going to put out a lineup of guys who have never played before just because they know how to play at altitude (like you are suggesting) but he may have one or two new guys who can either start or come off the bench and will not be phased by it.

Also, it makes sense that Rueda chose Bogota for the camp.

that tactic is stupid...taking account that we won our last 2 mathces there with our regular XI......of barranquilla...

Pinto made the same thing and we only get a suffered point.

I would not say it is stupid but I agree with you that I would not do that tactic of putting out a whole new lineup.

I think it is more likely maybe a couple players here and there. Or mainly just subs.

I watched the road race and the time trial. Even though we didn’t place, I was happy with their performances

Mostly Rigo, placing 8th on both events. Nairo sucked big time.

I said this a few years ago. Now at Leon!

Wondering if he could get called up one day.

Maybe that post should be in the Colombians in Mexico thread.

Not sure if he will be called up but and interesting guy to keep an eye on at Leon.

The mod Paul Calixte posted this info in the FIFA BS forum :

    Crazy if true.
Glad we are a pretty deep team because three game windows with all the travel, climate and altitude extremes will test roster depth for sure.

The three game schedules might look like this:

    September 2nd @ Bolivia.
    September 6th Brasil.
    September 10th Chile.

    October 7th Uruguay
    October 11th @ Paraguay
    October 15th Ecuador.

    Cardona shouldn’t be called.

hopefully Sinisteria is finally ready and maybe Cucho and Luis Diaz are too.

honestly if James is done either because he is a bitch or injury.

    let’s play with wingers.

Diaz on the left —— Strong #9 and another crazy winger on the right (for now Muriel?)

like a playmaker if it’s not James is a wasted spot. I don’t want to wait 80 minutes for someone to make 1 pass and not do anything else the rest of the gams

I think we should learn to play without one and sub one in at some point in the game if necessary

No James and I fear for our lives

    that is a brutal October

Not beating Bolivia is potentially game over

even Brazil at home will be a hard point to get

Chile even at home can be difficult. 5 points would be great but I hope for at least 6 beating Chile and Bolivia should keep us in the top 5. Beating Brazil puts us half way to Qatar.

    November looks rough too

but we need to get something out of the Uruguay game!! Then beat the two weaker teams then us. I want 12/18 points for what’s left this year.
