We will agree to disagree.. Love and support will come from some but my point is almost the whole nation making it a social point of injustice would not occur at such a great extreme.
Especially keepinng it in the context of it being a third time biting offense.

    That is just plain looney.

    Yo Ban Sidspaceman!!!

He mentioned he who shall not be named!!!

don't bring That evil onto a Colombian soccer universe!!!

On a serious note. Bolillo almost keeping his job just showed our federation just want their friends or people they tell what to do to lead.

I to this day think Leonel was set up to fired after a few months to bring back Bolillo

After the lost to Venezuela I kept hearing Bolillo was coming back. Almost gave up on this team

I somewhat agree with that. I think they just have an inferiority complex with Brazil or Argentina or something lol.

I get the feeling the FBI and IRS do not care much about the World Cup.
They care about illegal activities and justice.

Illegal activity is untaxed money. The US government doesn't care about soccer or who is caught in the crosshairs. A little Oregon based shoe company was even mentioned in the charges. The US can only go after people and organizations operating in and through the US (some were being investigated long before locations for 2018 and 2022 were chosen). They are. Hopefully those people will roll.

Unlike many countries, the US government doesn't directly finance sports or venues. The federal government doesn't care about some sports tournament. There are no national stadiums. Cities and states can make requests for assistance towards infrastructure upgrades like transit, but nothing would go directly to stadiums or teams. Likewise, not only are many of the construction contracts for large venues and infrastructure relatively open in the US, no venues would be built specifically for the World Cup. It's easy for money to get lost in large construction with dubious contracts. That's not happening in the US so the marketing companies and sponsors are where the money is to be made. It's no coincidence that espn and NBCSN couldn't afford some away US World Cup qualifying games. Now Traffic is already paying back $25 - $150 million. That's a lot of un-taxed money.

i hope you are being facetious, this investigation started long before the tourney sites for 2018 and 2022 were voted on. sitruc has this spot on and thankgoodness the DOJ is doing something - no one else was stepping up.

crossing fingers Prince Ali wins tmrw - dude needs no money, no kick backs, nothing.

in reality I don't know much about the ins and outs of the FCF and Bedoya. No one really does. But the one thing I can say is that under his management he's had incredible success with our NT. We can say it was luck or whatever else but the results are positive during his tenure. I would not be surprised if he's tainted in some way but he's had a role in making the FCF successful.
