If we get Rueda I think it would be a godsend at this point. We weaken a direct rival and we get arguably the best Colombian manager that knows the qualifying process and teams well.

WTF did Suarez coach last? So he was shit since leaving Honduras... unemployed and our plan B is this FKING dude !!!

    Teams managed
    1999–2000
    Atlético Nacional
    2001 Deportivo Cali
    2001 Deportes Tolima
    2003–2004 Aucas
    2004–2007 Ecuador
    2008 Aucas
    2009 Atlético Nacional
    2009–2010 Juan Aurich
    2011–2014 Honduras
    2015 Universitario
    2015–2016 Dorados de Sinaloa
    2017–2018 La Equidad
    2018–2019 Junior

Not really they can just go back to Sampoli or another coach that had them playing really well.

I don't like that they aren't even trying to scout.... also 2 million for Reuda? Is Chile giving him that?

Chile has Peckerman has a highly unrealistic rumor. Ecuador also rumored Peckerman at some point and that rumor was as real as when Peru and Ecuador rumored Marcelo Gallardo.

Chile more realistic coaches on their radar are Heinze and Holan both coaches I wouldnt go crazy about.

Chile isnt trying to scout either it crazy how many good coaches are in south America and none of them are coming up as rumored options for anyone. Also Bielsa and Sampoli cant return to Chile they both left on bad terms with the Chilean Fed.

Also how Suarez ended up coaching Ecuador was beyond me he was awful at Aucas lol.

I am torn.. Of course I love Reinaldo for what he achieved with us. I wouldn't want to curse the guy if he does poorly with the selección

I reallyyyyy hope he can pull what he did with Nacional with la selección. He has better players than what he had when he was first in charge and he’s working with arguably better player Pool than Chile. So let’s hope we get back on track with him.

Colombia isnt in bad position, as was in 2003 when he took charge of the NT....in that moment we only had one point after 4 matches and with loses agisnt venezuela (home) and bolivia (points that very few teams give aways)

In this moment the situation is quite better...we are in the same point that we were 4 years before....

Colombia defense is weaker but not by much than in 2003. Our mfs and strikers we could not even dream of having

our star mf was Pacheco and fking tessor Moreno.

Our top striker was Angel and Gabriel fking Rey!!

While it sucks to not have a young Ivan Cordoba and Yepes. The rest of the team is miles ahead of what we had previously

what most excites me about Rueda is he will want to use the Youth team and hopefully coach the olympics and that squad. With Rueda hopefully the senior team and youth teams play the same. Wouldn’t mind if he brings Mendoza with him

It's a damn shame that he built the backbone of our NT for over a decade, and the only one left for him to use is Falcao.

I doubt he will have anything to do with the youth squads, even though he would be great at that job. He's not the kind to take on that responsibility willy nilly. They're not going to pay him the amount that job should earn, and that's probably why Redin was coaching Chile's u 23 instead.

Actually, Cristian Zapata is still playing.

And, to be fair, Guarin played pretty well in Brazil last year

so tons of rumors are pointing towards Rueda being our manager next. As villus said, it is pretty much the best case scenario we could have hoped for. No complaints from me. Queiroz was literally a complete waste of time.

also, can someone tell me why Chile don't like him?

im with you here. I literally don't have a clue why in hell anyone over there is even considering this guy. I think its a case of him just being well liked by everyone in the FCF for some reason. But the guy hasn't done a damn thing in almost 10 years. I remember seeing him on I think Polemica or some show like that months ago and the guys there kept raving over him like he cured world hunger or something.

JP Angel was a very decent forward to be fair. Im sure you were to busy back then to have watched him in England.

I will forever be sad that Cordoba never got to play with a decent team but at least he has that Copa America and the cup winning goal to boot too.

He won't be any worse than Queiroz, I can promise you that.

would you guys say Queiroz was one of the worst managers we've ever had?

Second rotation Bolillo was pretty awful. The joy when he was fired was palpable.

It's hard to say how bad he was because although he did some bad stuff for the most part he was bailed out by a very talented squad. I think he was just lazy and stubborn, some of the stuff was in the realm of logic but the last week with how the wheels fell off is the worst I've seen and with a lot of talent too. Either way the guy was terrible, even for a guy who's supposed to be a defensive coach they didn't press or defend well under him. No clue how Chile don't want Rueda, that squad has been aging and not super deep and he has done a solid job with what he has.
