To whom correspond Greetings from England! I am representative of a of a british computer software company. Currently I am working on a football management game where you assume the role of the coach of a team and are responsible for the purchase and sale of players, as well as formations, strategies and tactics. This is first time that the game is going to incorporate the Colombian league and I am looking for any assistance to help me. It is my job to obtain information about the colombian league and its teams. Although I have found some general information from official sites and fans sites, I am seeking to obtain a list of enthusiastic fans to help me. As part of my work I need to find information about the tactics and employed formations by the teams and information about the players such as their positions and feet preferred, etc. We want the game to be as authentic and up to date as possible and therefore I am asking for help from fans with a good knowledge of the league to achieve this goal. GREAT IDEA...be more specific and lets discuss it here! today you can find in most fubol tabloids around the world about ONCE CALDAS from the city of manizales keep up....we will help.
notably the best teams in order are america de cali deportivo cali D.I.M. Once Caldas Tolima Nacional chico f.c. Millionarios Santa Fe there are more those of the top of my head..
Thank you for the positive responces. Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but I've been in and out of work this week due to illness. Went to portugal to watch the england v france game and got severely bitten on the foot, so I've been in bed with my foot up most of the week! Here's a summary of what I have to do and where the help is needed: The Colombian league has never been included before on the game and therefore we have no previous data, research or contacts for help. So it is my job to research and record data on all the top flight teams. Each squad will only have 25 players so I have to decide which players should and should not be in the game. This is where I need your help. From Official sites and other source material I have a basic idea of the squads of most of the teams but as I don't know the players very well I have been desperately trying to contacts fans to work out their teams best 25. Also I have to work out how good the players really are giving rating out of 100 in areas such as: Shot accuracy/shot stopping, Forward runs, dribbling, Marking, pace & agility, tackling/diving, temperament, potential, heading/arial ability, intelligance, technique/handling, creativity, passing/distribution, stamina/swerve. Who are the leagues star players? Those who deserve to be the surprise package if you are managing a european team and scout colombia. Also with regards to the teams I have to work out their free-kick takers, corner takers, penalty takers and captain. I know it all sounds alot but it is my aim to make the colombian league as accurate and representative as possible to raise awareness. So if you're a fan of a specific team or you have a broad range of knowledge, this is your chance to make sure that your team is as precise and exact as possible. Adam Roberts
Currently working on the Deportivo Cali squad. He is a provisonal list of 20 ready to go on to the database: Breinner Catillo (GK) Omar Gil (GK) Juan Geovanni Garcia (DL) John Jario Monatno (DL) Nelson Rivas (DC) Don't know this player very well, therefore ratings not yet done. How good is he? Andres Mosquara (DC) Freddy Hurtado (DR) Don't know this player very well, therefore ratings not yet done. How good is he? Wilman Corde (DC) Jose Mera (DC) William Zapata (MC/DMC) Oscar Diaz (MC/R) Alvaro Dominguez (MC/L) Antony Tapias (MR) Jaun Carlos Guaza (MC) Don't know this player very well, therefore ratings not yet done. How good is he? Luis Rojas (AMC) Carlos Castillo (SC) Jorge Diaz (SC) Ivan Trujillo (F/LRC) Don't know this player very well, therefore ratings not yet done. How good is he? Julian Tellez (SC) Mahler Tresser Moreno (F/LRC) I am considering putting on promising defender Christian Zapata as well. Thoughts? Also having done research on other football management games I discovered that during the summer of 2003 the following players were at the club though not now on the official website: Leider Calimenio Preciado (SC) Gerardo Alberto Bedoya (DL) Elkin Antonio Murillo (AM/RC) Luis Felipe Arce (M/LRC) Gerardo Enrique Vallejo (DR) Now some of these are international quality players so can people confirm whether or not they are still at Cali and if so should they be in the 25 man squad. And finally I've been trying to find Deportivo Cali's squad numbers but they appear not to be on the official site. If anyone can help me out here it would be much appreciated! Cheers Adam
how can you include Chico?? they were just promoted last season? They have a fan base o about 20M supporters...please! If these are the 'best teams' in your book, then you know little about the history @ club level? Millonarios has won more Colombian championships then all teams there...granted they've done a crappy campaign last # of years, but they represent the capital... What about Atl. Junior , a team who was in the finals just last year, been in the semis of Copa Libertadores... but you include, Tolima, a team ,that before last year had never won a championship and was eliminated 1st round of Copa Libertadores. If you go by history, fan base, stadiums, and international play, it would have to go: Atl Nacional - Only team in Colombia who have won the Copa Libertadores, perennial contenders for the Colombian title. Have one of the top 4 largest fan bases. (this is where, Huigita, Asprilla, Juan Pablo Angel - Aston VIlla, palyed!) America De Cali - 11 time Champion of Colombia, 4 time finalist in the Copa Libertadores. Deportivo Cali - 7 time Champion of Colombia, 2 time finalist in the Copa Lib., and considered at the moment the wealthiest club in Colombia. (Valderrama played here for many years) Millonarios - 13 time Champions of Colombia, gone as far as qrt finals in Copa Lib., but in the 60s & 70s, boasted in having some of the 'best players' from all of South America. Also winners of the Copa Merconorte. ...coming up the ranks: DIM - big fan base, last year won their 2nd Colombian Championship in over 3 decades I believe, but were semi-finalists in Copa Lib. last year, looks like they'll be finalist in the Colombian (Apertura) this year. Have very good minor league system. Once Caldas - Won the championship (Clausura), in December, and are in the finals of the Copa Lib. for the 1st time in their history. Atl Junior - Have the most modern stadium in Colombia, have a huge fan base, are constantly in the fight for the Colombian Championship, and have reached the semi-finals of the Copa Lib. ...the 'others' Santa Fe - should be better then they are, have a big fan base being the other team from Bogota, but continue to underachieve Envigado, Dep. Pasto, Dep. Pereira, Bucaramanga, Union Magdalena, Tulua, Chico, Tolima are squads that go up and down the table always happy to just not be relegated. Most have never played in International cups, and have very little funding.
I dont care how they played in the past or what theyre history I care about how theyre playing right now I include Chico because it made the 8 it doesnt matter if it was drafted 10 years ago or yesterday theyre playing excelently and milliarniarios hasnt been able to play on a competitive level for so many years....
they may have no funding and never play in international cups but theyre qaulity of play surpasses that of many of those teams that do......history of 10 + years back is not really valid for me because the drug lord had so much influence in the football i care about recent history and current qaulity of players who is in the top 8 etc....I could care less abotu nacional but I put it in there out of respect....
here you will find most of what you need to know: at least from the BEST -by far- fan base in suramerica (sorry boca) www.dim.com.co they reached 4th place or 3rd in las copa libertadores and tomorrow they will play for the right to be in the colombian finals 2004, at 3:30pm BTW
what...? are you kidding me...? not care about history!!! so Argentina who was knocked out in the 1st round of WC '02 wouldn't make your top 10 at the national level either... Chico ..out of respect????tell me who their top players are...right, you don't know....silly. have you seen chico even play? ask anyone (even in this forum) who knows about Colombian football, and tell them Chico is the #5 team ...they'll laugh at you!!
chico fc: entrenador, eduardo Pimentel best players Anuad guerrero and yañez (but they played so well that they will not wear the checked flag jerserys next season) Then they have 3 washed players and old, that are or were close to retirement when they Joined pimentel: Fuad maziri (ex-america), the keeper _Tuberquia (ex-envigado fc) and does it! They play ugly and get lucky often, the lucky one is charming Yañez.
not even close! Millonarios and santa Fe are more that Chico.... today in clombia: america and dept cali (not in this order) medellin and atl nacional Junior and dept Pasto (or Once caldas with a full squad, bad benchers!)
Read "Mr I Love Colombia" what Meluk, the most famous sports journalist in El Tiempo had to say... ¿Y si Chicó es el finalista? ¡Ups!
Leider Calimenio Preciado (SC) NOW WITH INDEP SANTA FE Gerardo Alberto Bedoya (DL) NOW WITH COLON DE SANTAFE -ARG Elkin Antonio Murillo (AM/RC) NOW WITH LIGA DEPORTIVA - ECUADOR Luis Felipe Arce (M/LRC) NOW IN VENEZUELAN FUTBOL LIGA Gerardo Enrique Vallejo (DR) NOW.....WOW....I THINK HE IS ON THE BENCH OR INJURED Juan carlo Guaza: defensive right back, big and strong back center, never goes up for corner kicks as most DB spelling corrections: william coNde, MosquEra btw..... is going to be very hard for you or us to come Up with a roster of 25 per team, try 20 players (rosters there are not that deep)
I still put chico above millionarios they have been a respected force in the b league for some time now...
Let's see, I’ll only talk about the players that usually play starting line-up/bench: GK - Castillo - is their starting keeper, he's ok, not the nest that Colombia has within their clubs. Cali's defense is not very good considering their one of the top clubs in Colombia, I would say Mozquera and Mera are the best in Defense, both tall fast and very organized, and play all games. Rivas is young, super strong, fast, but needs much experience, he also loves to tackle! Hurtado, is starting to impress, he plays attack quite often, and is a good shot taker. William Zapata has not found a place on the team. He’s a good defensive midfielder but quite inconsistent. Usually on bench. Diaz is quiet good, great defensive midfielder, a bit inconsistent, but good tackler. Usually starts. Dominguez is a young midfielder with TONS of talent, but has played not great last couple games. Great passer! Carlos Castillo is a really good striker, strong fast, and a wicked shot. 1 vs 1 he usually wins. Tellez pass is owned by Velez (ARG), he was injured for a while, but is called ‘el matador’ for good reasons. Good striker. Moreno…this guy’s pass is owned by Metz (France), young fast, great shot kicker, great skills with the ball…can play midfield and/or striker. Just scored 2 goals in the last qualifier vs Uruguay. Pure class.
meluk is a fool now and was a fool when he was at the miami herald running latin sports and their forums! Meluk is pest now on city TV, very partial for anything that is cundinamarca. UN BOBO
Cali & Medellin First off Cali. Thanks for all your help A couple of things though. Squad numbers, does anybody know where I might find them as the official site is too incompetent to put them up. Also Tactics, what formation does Redin usually use? Who is the club Captain? Penalty taker & set piece taker (i.e Corners & Free kicks) Cali is almost sorted now but I may come back to them to iron out the creases. Now Medellin This is going to be my preliminary squad. If you spot any mistakes please highlight them, also if you believe that I'm missing players out of the 25 that are better than any players already in the squad, again let me know! David Gonzalez (GK) Julian A Mesa (GK) Don't know much about him. How good is he? Jair Benitez (DL/C) Jamell O Ramos (DR) Heriberto Valandia (DC) Jhann C Lopez (DC) Don't know much about him. How good is he? Jaime A Castrillon (AM/LC) Camilo Giraldo (M/LC) Neider Morantes (AMC/FC) John Angulo (SC) I know he's a promising striker, but how good is he? Jorge Haracio Serna (SC) Juan Batista (DR) Don't know much about him. How good is he? Not sure how good the following are due to a lack of research at this moment in time Ferley Villamil (MR) Robinson Munoz (DC) John Wilmar Perez (AMR) Carlos Cordoba (DMC) Rafael Castillo (SC) Ricardo Calle (DL) Luiz Fabiano De Souza (SC) Jhon Jaramillo (DMC) Alejandro Vasco (AML/FL) Nicolas Andres Torres (DMC/MC) Juan Moreno (AM/LC) Diego Alvarez (SC) Thoughts? Which are the stand out players? How would you rate the players in the 25? I have a basic idea of how good most are, but your input is always helpful! Also like with Cali, Squad numbers, does anybody know where I might find them? And Tactics, what formation does Jaime Rodríguez Zuárez usually use? Who is the club Captain? Penalty taker & set piece taker (i.e Corners & Free kicks) Any input would again be greatly appreciated! Adam.
Currently doing staff members as well but my lack of spanish is proving a stumbling block. Can anyone tell me what 'Utilero', 'Kinesiólogo' & 'Coach Fisico' would mean in English? Cheers!
Here we go again. I'm trying to find the average attendences of all the top flight clubs, can anyone shed some light on the subject? Also to save me some time and research and also no doubt spark some debate, I am looking to find the top 5 or 6 star players of every top flight side and what makes them fall into this category 'star player'. Cheers again!
Stadiums Another aspect of my job is to design kits and club stadiums. The kits are fairly straight forward, however the stadiums are proving a little more difficult. So far I have the names and photo images of most of the stadiums, however there are four which I simply cannot find. They are: Estadio Guillermo Plazas Accid (Atletico Huila) Estadio 12 de Octubre (Deportivo Tulua) Deportivo Bogota Chivo Futbol Club (Don't know the stadium name) Deportivo Pasto (Don't know the stadium name) If you can help me on this one I'd appreciate it! Cheers Adam
