so, im still seeing mentality problems. Same ones that happened during WCQ when we repeatedly lost games and drew games because we decided to switch off the intensity.

same stuff that happened in the draw with Paraguay after being up 2-0 or when Uruguay scored by lumping the ball at us in the final kick of the game

thats the concern, its also worth mentioning that there were many subs made and the team was something else. We need to find an alternative for Castano who's playing like shit at River and lack of intensity is something that should never be an issue

    Maybe.

But just like we cannot take away too much from a 4-0 against Mexico, we also cannot be tempted to go the other way with our struggles these last two matches.

Friendlies are for experiments and hopefully Lorenzo is taking meticulous notes.

well Puerta was amazing, need to incorporate him as he could definitely sneak into the squad like this. It would be great to have a mini Rios regen in case he drops in form

im thinking these clowns will be motivated enough during WC to stop switching off, if a WC can't motivate them nothing will.

puerta was my motm. also thought James was really good. just unfortunate finishing (nothing new)

besides carbonero, I thought yaser once again was really good off the bench.that gambeta and speed is something only lucho gives us.having that on the bench in games we might be struggling to break down a defense could be valuable

These friendlies are wonderful reminders that these "weak" teams could knock us out if we are not too careful.

We have to never forget that one match due to lack of discipline is the difference between us challenging for the WC and us being sent home in the first knockout round.

we missed like 12 chances at goal in scoring position……

What’s worse they had a ton of chances that a remotely decent team with an ok striker would have scored

they got to montero way too easily

Lorenzo needs to call up every lb with 5% Colombian blood and give him 30 minutes. The ones we have just are not good enough

    * more minutes for carbonero

    * more minutes for Puerta next game so a first division team can sign him in the transfer window

    * when up 1-0, we need to think how do we get to 2-0 - instead we take the foot off the gas…

    * who do we think is Carrascal competing against for a roster spot? I’m not against him like others here are, but I think Puerta/Carbonero need a better look

    * Yasser can also benefit from more minutes. Similar to the Canada game, he had a moment or two of brilliance but he needs teammates to find open space so his moments can have more meaning to it.

    * not sure what to make of Ángulo…

    * Santi Arias is a consummate pro. Can he play LB when Munoz is at RB?

It's going to be freezing and the pitch is really weird when they set up Citi for soccer so I have a feeling it will be the consummate friendly...

I am just a basic athlete, but I run better when it’s below 50 than when it’s above 80…

these are not not youth soccer kids…

the pitch yesterday looked awful. I don’t have high hopes for the Mets field who poured all their money into Juan Soto and probably skimped out on the grass lol

I think Rios and Portilla will start like they did against Canada. I think Davinson and Lucumi will start. I think Munoz and Mojica will start.

Other than that I am not sure.
Maybe Vargas just to get back into the swing of things with the back line.

agreed, running in the cold is wonderful. Ive played during 30-40 degree weather in NC and its amazing, can literally run forever and not break a sweat

Ha. I was projecting for the spectators. I grew up less than a mile from Citi and if it gets windy there near the water it will be lame for the peeps in their seats!

A game at 40 degrees on the stands sucks, especially for Colombians
