Cuadrado was awesome, showing some real moments of magic in a game that was not that entertaining. The passionate support from the fans was more attractive than the match. Only Smaras and Kone are any good from Greece, they have a severe lack of technical fundamentals.
Dominate? You obviously have short memory as to how the Brasil - Croatia game played out. Not to mention the South Americans didn't really dominate any of the games in question.
Colombia wasn't impressive but they were efficient and it was also the first game, they can go on to grow as the competition goes on.
yup, the last 2 matches by far had the best officiating. Good job concacaf and caf. I especially like how the refs today did not buy for one second the diving from either side. Other refs need to learn a thing or two. They were from Canada and USA, these are countries who do not have diving as a main part of their game. The latin American countries usually are the worst culprits.
Doesn't matter how the games are played out. The official result says they all won there games by at least 3 goals.
bad match for me from both colombia and greece. And colombia was a bit lucky it shouldnt be 3-0 it should be like 2-1 or 3-2
the 12th Best team in the World ? You just gotta love FIFA rankings. They need to overhaul their garbage system.
Maths not your best subject I gather... Only one team won by 3 goals. The rest won by less. And honestly - it does matter how the game played out, especially with all the gifts Brasil got in the opener.
I wasn't really impressed with either team. Certainly not Greece, but not even Colombia despite their 3:0 win.
Colombia missed more chances than Greece overall, although the one that Geftas headed into the crossbar was an unbelievable miss. Colombia was clearly better, at best it should have been 3-1.
Home continent advantage seems to be a thing, by seeing how everything played out! watch out, rest of the world
Last WC in CONMEBOL (1978) : 3 out of 3 CONMEBOL teams survived group stage. Last WC in CONCACAF (1994) : 2 out of 2 CONCACAF teams survived group stage. Last WC in AFC (2002) : 2 out of 4 AFC teams survived group stage. Last WC in UEFA (2006) : 10 out of 13 teams survived group stage. Last WC in CAF (2010) : 1 out of 6 CAF teams survived group stage. One of these does not belong.
In fairness that's down to Greece generally being much better in their home games where they are often much stronger. They are a bit like Ecuador or Bolivia - good at home but they don't travel well
What difference does that make? They played the reigning world champs off the pitch in what was clearly the best performance of the WC so far
