So Ecuador managed to tie their game against Paraguay with a 2-2 with a last minute goal similar to how we won against Bolivia today. Now given that we have ben terribly inconsistent with our neighboring brothers, how do they look against us?
Don't we always beat them in Colombia? The heat seams to affect them. We need to beat Ecudor it's a 6 point game. We beat them and we are only 3 points away from them in the standings. We need to eliminate either Ecuador or Chile to qualify. As for the next game I see him bringing in Arias for Medina and Zapata for Oscar Murillo. Most likely Abel for Seb Perez. Think only change he should do is Arias for Medina. This team played super well. That being said maybe the team that played today is too green to play Ecuador.
As long a Jeison is back at LCB instead of RCB. Zapata was surely missed & would have swatted those Bolivians like Flies. I think he would not have allowed any goals yesterday, but he was justly out due to cards so it is moot. I think Pekerman is so tempted to start Marlos. There is no Colombian player on the planet who is as hot as he is. Ibarbo would be the perfect partner for him due to chemistry at Nacional & the Physical brute strength match-up against those Ecuadorean who are going to try and crush whoever is in their path. But rewarding Bacca for scoring would also be acceptable. Maybe he can carry that momentum to Barranquilla. Midfield I say Cardona and James with Abel and Celis behind them.
Not bad. But Cuadrado looked dead tired after he was injured on the ground out of bounds in the first half. I think he would be more valuable as a super sub in this one. However, if he is fully rested and healthy I would not complain if he starts.
Think the Altitude defiantly affected him. Pekerman used a young team because it would affect them a little less

Yup a win against Ecuador puts us in 3rd place if all other teams tie. It should def have us close to 5th regardless of results. So the Brazil game and Paraguay games we won't be desperate for points
A win also guarantees us within 3 points of first place of the table no matter what happens in the other games.
Not just that but it has to be hard to go from the altitude of La Paz to playing in that heat. Luckily Ecuador has to do the same thing.
To me stats and standings isn't what its stake. It's our morals as a squad and fan base. Cops America and the the start of qualifiers ensured that task. 3pts against Ecuador cam reverse it.
Think Torres needs to start now that we sent Celis away. Don't see another DM. To me Cuellar is more box to box like Abel and more offensive minded. Abel with Cueller or Perez is too offensive with Cardona, James and Cuadrado attacking. We would get murdered in a counter attack. I know that Pekerman puts Cardona in the MF and wants him to defend more but regardless too offensive. Arias is a great RB but doesn't track back 1/3 as fast as Zuniga did. We also don't have Armero who had unlimited stamina.
I agree. I was just putting things in perspective as to how close being mid-table is from being to the very top of the heap. As we all know South American Qualifications are a long brutal marathon.
