James and the midget are basically the same thing

I had faith in campaz but doesn't seem like he's it either, on the wing we need more of the traditional colombian winger like carbonero.

    Nah

James is significantly better for the NT, especially as a starter. Quinterito is a hell of a 20 minutes of magic guy though

From watching them play in person, I feel James is more of a midfield general who does short and long passes to create opportunities

JFQ seems to be less of a general and his focus seems more about getting the pass/goal of the week. He doesn’t come across as a leader.

hoping this game was all part of Lorenzo's grand master plan experiment.

Don't fault Lorenzo here but clearly there are some guys who are not doing well with the chances they've been given (Borre, Serna and Roman specifically come to mind.

I do wish Lorenzo used the 2nd half with someone else other than James. Clearly we are a much better team with James. But Lorenzo needs to work work work on a Plan B. When JFQ is doing caca on the field or is also injured and he doesnt have a James, what's he going to do? How's he going to move his chips. Disappointed that he went back to square 1.

no it is true…. He has a crazy assist after a team is broken down by James then it’s like
Wow why isn’t Quintero given minutes because of the Canada game

He is a Tessor Moreno, Mac Nelly Torres, gio Hernandez type 10

We were winning but just by one and we were under pressure. His goal ended up deciding that game because it ended 2-1.

Friendlies don't matter much other than to try different things and work on game plans, it's hard to do against a team like Canada who needs to take this like a qualifier and presses really well. We could press like they do if we remained committed to it but Lorenzo gave up on that unfortunately, we have the team to do it from front to back if we wanted to and did it really well in Lorenzo's early days, sadly we aren't talented enough to go too far unless we do get back to our all out pressing.

Not sure it's sustainable to press like that all the time with James on the field but agree we should do it more.

Ya we'd have to sacrifice James, at least for games where we have a tough opponent. We did it decently with James in the beginning, but he's also basically gonna be 2 year older by the time of the World Cup and I don't think he can do that as a starter and have a top notch press. But we have a bunch of guys who press at really good levels, I'm not convinced what we've been doing when we stopped pressing is going to get us to another level, in fact it was kind of a steady decline when we moved away from that and teams learned to exploit our formation trying to hide James.

If we want to really have a chance at going far at the World Cup I think we have to accept we need another element and pressing really well for internationals can be a game changer, especially for our squad with a bunch of very good pressing athletic players throughout our squad.

which is weird because he adores James, who is a similar player. Same qualities. Same flaws

big difference James steps up when he is needed

not to do the pass of the weak after the game is won.

rather we put in another winger or striker instead if James doesn’t play.

vs New Zealand try a game without a #10. If James doesn’t play this team doesn’t have anyone to do anything in the mf other than. Pass to Diaz and hope for the best

Quintero has scored adversity goals at two world cups. He has literally decided a Libertadores final. Stop this nonsense.

Yup, we could play it AND a 10 if we let Arias cook in the role he played for Fluminense.

Not to mention, how many times have you seen us take the lead and then sit back and concede? Those extra goals matter. .Quintero has qualities that only .01 percent of players have and he's useful for at least 20-30 min a game.

He has done more than Mac10, tressor, or all of those guys combined so that comp is silly. I think crzd just hates the fact quintero was ever compared to James and bc of that now has it out for el gordo.
