I think against Paraguay we looked better actually... but attitude-wise this is by FAR the best game.

I see some of you guys think Kaka was bad in this game. I thought quite the contrary. In my opinion, he was the best brazilian on the pitch, apart from Maicon, Juan and Lucio. Kaka was fouled countless times this game (and there's nothing wrong with that, killing our counter attack is the best way to shut down this barren in possession Brazil), and the only way our team seemed to get higher up the pitch is when he got back to take the ball to the offense. Aside from that, we were basically waiting for Lucio to scuff long balls so we could try something from that. This brazilian team can't play in possession, if you look at the stats I think something like 80% of our goals come from counter attacks, and other 15% from dead ball situations.

    kaka tried
but the whole tactic move from Dunga is way too predictable
shut kaka down and the rest are gone!

robinho....why he did not took a more creative role?

I think we have another good problem right now....:) what will be when Cristian Zapata and Aquivaldo will be fit to play?? Our best players today were Amaranto (who Pinto had been able to fight with him) and Super Mario (who idiot Pinto had been able to fight with him as well). If you ask me, I continue with both of them vs. Bolivia also, it seems like they have perfect match between them. I can't belive that Yepes plays in Chievo and not in a bigger club, definitly worth it.

    My grades for the game:

Julio-Didn't have much work, responded well for the 3-4 dangerous options. 7.

zuniga-Was good in the first half, joined the attack many times and also defended well. Disappeared a little bit during the second half in the offense part but kept his good defense game. 7.

Perea-Excellent match for Amaranto. Nautrelized the Brazilian attacks time after time. I admit that before Paraguay I didn't want him to play, glad I was wrong, great decision of Lara. 9.

Yepes-Amazing!! we missed our old Super Mario :) simply perfect!!! 10.

Armero-Played very well, both in defense and offense. In general I liked the Colombian game from both flanks, right and left. 8.

Guarin-Another good game of this young talented player. stopped the Brazilian attacks with Bedoya in the middle of the field, and started the Colombian attacks also. In my opinion needed to shoot more on goal (like some other players) 8.

Bedoya-Apparently the veterans added a lot for the NT. Bedoya was one of them, I would like to see him shoot much more, he has killer left foot!! I would definitly consider him for the next game. 7.

Vargas-For me, the biggest surprise of this game. After we all put him down hard, he showed sacrifice, fought on every loose ball, defended well, needed to shoot more on goal when he was open. In general, very good game. 7.5.

Toja-Good debut for Steaua's player. Was activated very much from left side, played like he is in the NT for few years. again, like Guarin and Vargas, needed to shoot more when he had the option, all of them have very good long distance kicks. It would also make the Brazilian defenders to move forward to block the shots and then the area was much available. 7.5.

Quintero-For me, one of the best players in this game. He was amazing in the first half, was very activated, made a terrible head ache for the Brazilian defenders who tried to stop him. He also needed to shoot more, and when he'll be more mature he'll be much better player. Yesterday he still had the extra dribble that wasn't necesarry instead of shooting from a range that he already scored from, but I'm very happy from him. He showed that a thin but fast player can play in the highest levels. 8.5.

Renteria-Another surprise for me. Before Paraguay I wasn't sure that he supposed to open since he barely played this season, but he showed why he was one of the best strikers in France last year. Much more accurate shot in the 71 minute and we were with 3 points, But I'm glad that we received our Wason back. Hopefully he'll score vs. Bolivia. 8.

Aguilar-I like to see that Abel didn't forget to play football. Continued Bedoya's work and was good at. Deserve to be in a better team in my opinion. 7.

Dayro-Maybe should have entered earlier, and maybe instead of Vargas, but as soon as he entered, he started with his dribbles and also shoot couple of times, I like this player more and more in every game. It won't help us, but IF he would play vs. Paraguay............ ;) 7.5.

Ramos-wasn't play too much so we can impress from him, but no doubt that this player is good, and deserve to be in the NT.

Profe Eduardo Lara-Our big star of this round. I never thought that I can praise a coach who got 1 point out of 6. He received NT without confidence, less then a month before it's toughest round and did his best. We lost at home, vs. 8 defenders Paraguay even that we played wonderful, but if I was sure that we'll come to Brazil to defend only, Lara showed that he also wants to win, unlike other coach that we all "love".... I really really hope that Lara will stay with us at least until the end of these qualifiers...No doubt that with him we'll fight until the end!! Bravo Profe!! 10.

I think that we found our answer to Giovanni's spot...Darwin Quintero. :) He comes back when he loses the ball, doesn't stop working, and is fearless. I love saying this..."I TOLD YOU SO". :D My favorite part was when he was out on the break with Lucio and didn't back down not one bit. I agree he still has to develop more but he gives us a huge spark.

I agree, I think that we played better against Paraguay but it was a good performance but man do we have a lot of work to do. March is a long time to wait. That's what...4 Months . Would love to see Quintero, Falcao, and Wason together.

jajajaj Actually it's 5 months and a half, the end of March 2009 :D. The game vs. Paraguay was better cause we attacked more and it was a home match. It's much more impressive to play like this vs. a NT like Brazil in their stadium. My best part of this game was when we passed the ball and their crowed shout "ole" jajajaja :). I really hope that Lara will stay, cause it means that he'll keep with this players and he brought a new spirit and hope to the NT and to us, the fans. Man, I can't wait for March....But with all the excitment, don't forget that first we MUST win Bolivia at home, the same team who drew 0-0 in Brazil, like us. Won't be an easy one, especially because of our goals problem. Hopefully the gate will open against them, even though right now I'm willing to sign of small 1-0 Colombian jajajaja.

yea colombia left me quite amaze. i think vargas shut me up good. he did wonderful, to think how disgustingly crap he did with pinto..... quintero es un crack, he needs to mature but this guy seems to be going to be better than pino.

Perea and yepes perfect, i love aquivaldo and cristian zapata but like pibe10 said, perea and yepes did wonderful and should deserved to start next games....

armero is another one that left me so dam impressed... how he defended and attack was unbelivable. we have a new lb starter.
