The sub 18, the squad that'll play the 2021 Sudamericano, is currently playing a little tournament in Japan. They lost their first match, which you could watch here:

They won again today. 3-1 over Japan.

Pretty good showing from the team overall. Lots of speed. The standouts:

Edwin Mosquera - A right-footed LW with TONS pf pace. He was taken down for penalties 3 times and scored another one on his own. Constant headache for defenders with his pressing.

Fabian Angel - One of the better DMs I've seen at this age level. Rarely loses a duel. His ability to play as the lone man in defensive midfield allowed the team to shine.

Andres Arroyo - Kind of a winger kind of a 10. After a poor first match on the wing, he lined up a little more centrally and did a lot better. He's not physically impressive, but he's got great vision.

Juan David Cabal - LB. Kid is already starting for Nacional and I can see why. You rarely see laterales this size who can move that well. Very clever on the ball.

DYLAN FELIPE BORRERO CAICEDO – Santa Fe
ALEJANDRO GARCÍA CASTILLO – Once Caldas
JHON JÁDER DURÁN PALACIO – Envigado F.C.
JUAN DAVID MOSQUERA LÓPEZ – Independiente Medellín
JUAN MANUEL CUESTA BAENA – Independiente Medellín
EDWIN STIVEN MOSQUERA PALACIOS – Independiente Medellín
ANDRÉS FELIPE AMAYA RIVERA – Atlético Huila
YERSON MOSQUERA VALDELAMAR – Atlético Nacional
JUAN DAVID CABAL MURILLO – Atlético Nacional
SEBASTIÁN GUERRA NAVARRO – Atlético Nacional
CÉSAR RAFAEL HAYDAR VILLARREAL – Junior F.C.
FABIÁN STEVEN ÁNGEL BERNAL – Junior F.C.
JAIME LUIS ACOSTA ALMEIDA – Junior F.C.
JHAN POOL TORRES CAÑATE – Barranquilla Fútbol Club
ANDRÉS JUAN ARROYO ROMERO – Deportivo Cali
KÉNER JULIÁN VALENCIA CHARÁ – Deportivo Tuluá
JUAN DAVID MARTÍNEZ SÁNCHEZ – Sao Paulo F.C. (Brasil)
JUAN DAVID TORRES HENRÍQUEZ – Corinthians (Brasil)

So Colombia is going to host the Suramericano in February..
God willing things get better by then on the Corona front and there can be fans.

I was going to pull a crzd and say that if we do not win the Sub20 trophy Reyes should be fired but without fans it may be much tougher.

reyes is garbage and should be fired regardless

he is a ******** for saying the things he did about the non Colombian born players. If we had won and played great. Fine talk shit like you are Conte or Mourinho.

but play like garbage and have 10 people sell their souls to get a 0-0 win or a last minute fluke goal. Don’t go around talking trash

Have any of the other teams been training?

So...we're basically going to be playing with the previous sub 17. It's a squad with some decent talent who've begun to play in FPC. That same squad played very well when they were sub 15.

More than training (because our sub 20 teams often look like they've never played with each other) I think the biggest issue is going to be the fact that very few new kids will have debuted in FPC before then. Reyes can't spot talent on his own. And that previous sub 17 will not qualify as is...

Possibly uruguay where covid is controlled.....maybe brasil where is no restrictions.....and in the other countries they are lifting the redtrictions because they are not in the peak anymore

I think that colombia and argentina are the countries with more restrictions because covid in this moment.....because the peak arrived too late.....

There's not nearly as much buzz around this kid as Salcedo or Poveda, but good on the Fed for pushing for him.

Lengthy vid of him. Looks like he plays multiple positions:

I am just guessing here but maybe one of the reasons the fed is on this kid as opposed to the others is because they do not want Ecuador to get him.;)

Could you imagine the backlash if he scores goals against us at the Youth Level and the Senior Level in the future??

He can play for 3 nts but only 2 want him. I would wait if I was the kid. How bad is Ecuador be and how long during the rebuild. How quickly can he make the SNT in both. Also what team does he support

like technically if I was good enough I could play for Israel, Italy, colombia or US. I do not support any of those teams but colombia. Since his dads from Ecuador I see him as a Ecuadorian player. Still we should try to sign him if he is good

    Now that is pretty interesting.
Could change the whole landscape of futbol and become more like American College football recruiting and transfers.

    Salcedo can be called yes.

Poveda has played more than 3 games for the England U19 though.
I am not sure if he could be called up without doing the one time switch paperwork and have it approved.
Unless the three games only apply to Senior official matches. But I am not sure.

    *Correction
I just looked it up and Salcedo also played more than 3 official matches at the U19 level.

So he might have to file FIFA switch paperwork too.

Where this new FIFA proposal does 100% help with these two kids though is if they do play in 3 Euro Qualifiers or World Cup Qualifiers(by the age of 21) they would still be able to be called up by Colombia if they want to switch and file paperwork I assume.
(Although I doubt Poveda plays in qualifiers unless he explodes under Bielsa.)
