Duke's on ESPN for the first of a hundred or so times this season (but no Dickie V!), so it must be time to start a college hoops thread.

Couple of early-season mega-upsets in the past week with pre-season Top 25 teams Kentucky and USC losing to Gardner-Webb and Mercer, respectively, both of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The first one sets up a big UConn vs Gardner-Webb matchup in MSG this Thursday. Ha.

I'm excited about the squad the 'Cuse has assembled this year. It brings back memories of the teams of the '80's who had athletes all over the court and ran their opponents into the ground. We finally have a point guard(Jonny Flynn) who can run the show like Pearl and Sherman did. They are young and I'm sure they will lose a few games they shouldn't along the way. But I wouldn't want to play this team come March. They could be scary good. And if all these players decide to come back next year watch out.

Tubby is getting it done so far here in Minnesota. Gutsy 16 point comeback at PSU today. Big time match up thursday night on the raised floor at the barn as the IU hoosiers come to town.

I'm a Minnesota fan but since it looks like we're a mirage i'm backing purdue. Weren't they 10-1 in the big ten and not ranked. east/west coast bias... how quickly would they slap a top 5 ranking on USC if they had a record as good as purdue.

Yeah, but has he beat anyone with a high ranking? I like Tubby Smith as a person but he had so many excuses everytime his UK team lost and the majority of them made no sense.

    Final Four picks:
    UNC over Wisconsin
UCLA over Texas then to beat UNC

The closest thing I have for a cinderella run is Villanova and Drake making into to the Sweet 16.

Davidson is my darkhorse. Gonzaga better watch their ass, Davidson can flat out play. They gave Duke and UNC all they could handle.

Why does duke always win in the last minute in a game they didn;t deserve to win?

They yanked that one out of their butts. If Belmont had a little patience and worked for a better shot at the end Duke would've gone down.

The look on coach K's face was priceless. The last 8 minutes of the game I swore he was gonna ralph all over his assistant coach. :D

Man after last night I was feeling pretty good about my bracket 15 out of 16. Halfway through today Im only 3 out of 8 and I had drake going to the Sweet 16.

I had Drake as well. I'm doing alright but this is quickly going down, followed by Connecticut today as well.

Well at least those two games guarantee a double digit seed getting into the sweet 16. In the end brackets are just for fun (especially when Im over 8000 places away from the CBS grand prize), I got UCLA winning it all but I would love to watch them lose to the 16th seed.

On another note has anyone else noticed the road the clock BJs Knights been getting from Digger and Vitale since he joined ESPN? And as they days goes on it seems so does his irritation for Vitale. I also feel sorry for Rece Daving when it's him and those three old men yapping. He must feel like a retirement nurse.

Knight's analysis ALWAYS adds zero to each segment. What a joke.

I concur. Now my Hoyas face Davidson. Can't say I feel real good about this game. Curry's a flat out baller. He can shoot the lights out.

They have some big time outside shooters and that is always scary in a one-and-done situation.

They definitely proved to the country they were no number 2 seed.

With them and Clemson going down it proves to me the Big East is better than the ACC. All year long every media outlet touted the ACC. Well, the Big East put 7 teams in. Let's see how far they go.
